As most of you know, you cannot purchase HEAL potions or scrolls on Fredian, but the warped people have 2 HEAL potions each on average.
This does not appear to hinder fighter and cleric based characters, but my rogue/wizard based character takes nearly half an hour per warped archer to kill them because they have HEAL potions.
Makz, can you cut them down to 1 HEAL potion please for archers and possibly rogues and monks also; fighters and barbarians require a party anyways, despite being 38 seasons, and the potions would not be a major factor in a party setting.
Just a suggestion from someone who wanders around alone a lot.

there isn't any way to do it as far as i know... you just need to be able to kill them quicker.... The same "problem" occurs with glacials (one drank 6 times and i still didn't kill him), and invisible stalkers...

Hmm...I'm against that really. Warped are supposed to be hard to kill, hence there high CR. But a suggestion for all heal potion using monsters might be this: As Heal potions cannot be bought anymore, how about if one of those monsters that are carrying those potions is killed, a small percentage chance that they will leave one for the Character to pick up?

I have though about this a lot too. I'm kinda against monsters having heal potions at all. Give them more HPs/attack/damage/damage reduction/immunities if you want to make them tougher, not potions. I'm not totally against it, I just wonder why it's necessary?
The basic problem is this, many people simple can't kill these monsters, the glacial giants in peticular. They have unlimited potions (last time I fought them). 6, that's all? HA! I've seen them down 2X that amount. OK, so why are they unkillable? You can't do the amt. of damage required from the time they get hurt enough to take the potion, until they get the heal off. If they have unlimited potions, you can't kill them. I have seen *3* fighters sit ALL day on 1 giant, taking turns resting (yes I said resting) to get their HPs back and rejoin the fight.
OK, so unlimited I think is overboard (maybe there is a limit with the glacial giants, it's just WAY too high). I think if we get 0, they should too. I mean from a RP point of view, where did they get them that I can't? From a tactical point of view, why do they have something at their disposal we don't, there are plenty of other ways to make a tougher foe (see above)?
About the drops, then people would just harvest them from those mobs. It would be like a store of sorts, and would re-introduce them to the players. Might as well sell them again, unless the find was so rare it's not worth harvesting. Then, it looses it's impact. We either have heal potions, or we don't. We don't and I like it that way. It make PvP have reasonable endings as well instead raise+heal= ready to go. Now it's raise+10 rounds of potion drinking=ready to go, well after 10 rounds your either battle is over, or you a target before you get fully healed. I like that affect, it mean if you do drop in PvP, your pretty much out of the battle for a while.
I think monsters should have, at most, 1, MAYBE 2, heal potions, and they should never/RARELY drop.

The giants are not immune to death magic Which would you rather have, no heals on monsters or more of them throwing devastating critical the way so many PC's do?

I wouldn't mind some monsters having d-crit., that would encourage parties in some areas. Shouldn't be able to solo everything right?
Go priests!!!
edit: but it's not necesarly an either or kinda thing. Like I said, there are lots of ways to make the monsters toughter. ;D

Playing a cleric as I do, the warped fighters, monks, archers, and rogues are no big deal and I am only 37th season. (harm spells help alot ) How ever if the spell fails then there is a problem. I have not seen one heal yet. The warped barbarians on the other hand, Run Forest RUN!!!

NO!! and NOTHING has unlimited heal potions, trust me, I gave them them! Makz. OK, it's a LOT then, did you fill their inventory? Again, it's been a little while since I fought them (glacial(or is it wasteland) giants). I'll trek out there just to see, I don't think Nor'il has met them in a while, might as well smack some wanna be drow around while I'm over there. ^.^ Who knows, gotta keep tabs on your "updated various little things" which are NOT always little.

Whispering Oak has found a new tactical weapon to use against the warped archers, it still takes him a long time to kill the bloomen things, but it does help some. Not sure about other warped beings or other creatures, I hardly get to play or visit the forums anymore since I started college

Was it lagging when you were fighting them? Odd things happen during lag, like, monsters attack, but you don't or the opposite. When I was training a few days ago I walked into a room with 3 invisible stalkers, but only one started to attack. The other 2 sat there while I beat them to a pulp. Anyways, that might have been it...
If your not attacking when the server is lagging it's often because you are trying a special attack (knockdown, disarm, whatever), try changing the attack to a normal attack, or move a few steps and try the special attack again. That usually get you acting again.
BTW, this has been a problem/bug with lagging servers since I started playing when the game came out, so not much can be done about it.
