Move your mouse like you are going to re-size your window. Instead of left-clicking and shifting the frame up or down, RIGHT click and see what happens A little radial menu will appear that will allow you to do some various chat configurations. Think about the poor mac users!!! Oh wait, I heard they gave them a second button now... ^.^ (sorry Hanah ) darn, how did I miss that right click thingie.

Think about the poor mac users!!! Oh wait, I heard they gave them a second button now... ^.^ (sorry Hanah ) darn, how did I miss that right click thingie. Right click being gone is pretty bad. I mean, I have trouble using Windows when there's no center mouse key/wheel, not even having right/left is horrid. I just hope I never get a 4-button mouse. Like they say, you never need something until you've had it, lol. And Makz, I realize that noisy taverns are realistic, but put in more sounds or something. Get rid of all the walking NPC's and all the talking, it will make things much nicer. (I'm not trying to give orders here, just that my tendency to type short bits makes my suggestions seem a bit forceful, just for the record...) It's quite different trying to read moving text than it is trying to listen to someone in RL. Finally, I will attempt to stay out of West Styne... as soon as I find a store to sell loot at in Castille, at least. Hmm... is there a kehaar in castille, or do you have to use the one in styne harbor and take the ship?

Hmmm the spawn points ,perhaps are not an issue. W.Styne has a place that is a grouped setting . perhaps other places could be changed a little as well. also a no pvp hang out for lower lvl pc's should be around. a place where they can just think in peace. I love beautiful "downtown" castille, but my squire time I have been doing in w.styne takes away from that (someones got to) . but this is where have to go with what makz always saz and what some has posted "explore" and then set up shop someplace, you may run into some of the higher lvl pcs . I would have never met soo many if it wasnt for castille trade hall ...that trade hall is the best . ;D

As Pheonixs says "Right click Thingy" ... Addicted you rock.
Inns and npc chatter solved. Hey siletus hook that other thread up with this for others, alright Please do the hooking uping.
Congregation points:
Nope hate the idea of segregation of charecters by level. Seems WAY TO ELITIST to me. I bet I could play a pre 20th charecter on fredian and be a major influence to the sever community. I bet some already are ((not sure what level Silentus is but I'm sure its not 40th)) . So you want one of the most influential, IMHO, charecters confined from the others by level restriction huh. Poor play old chap.

noPvP gets abused too much. I have stopped playing for the session/evening because of crappy RP in noPvP areas. WS isn't a hot bed even though PvP has been turned on for a while. Sure everyone got their frustrations out, but it's much calmer now. At least from my persepective. If it does get hectic, I have seen the town knights (dms) clean things up, and run trouble makers out of the area.
Your absolutely right, however it's not like were asking for places lower levels can't go, just a place for higher people to go.
Besides WS, is a TOWN, Castille is a CITY. There should be more things available in Castille, but everything you would ever want is in WS.
What about moving the tailoring/jewelcrafting/bowery-fletching equipment to Castille (leaving weapon and armour crafting)? The more 'complex' crafts are not available in a smaller town, like Styne (or Whillem?).

No go on moving the crafting of bows and tailoring out of WS...tailoring is the only craft you can take up without martial proficiency, and bowyering is the best money maker for the fewest points into it. We'll see how things go, but I think that a good possibility has come up DM-side

Just thinking out loud, about ways to move people... Honestly I don't thing DM/player interaction alone will make a new hub. I think it's area design/layout, which is why WS is what it is...
I would say a good 80-90% of everything on the server, can be done within 2-3 areas of WS. That includes RP, leveling, crafting, and several quests.
The rest is RP outside of town, rare ores (infrequent trips), and getting flowers (also not that frequent), and several quests.

I would agree with the jewelry crafting being in the bigger town, but everything else should be available in a small town (basically frontier) because they would be needed there, for example bowyering and fletching would be needed in a frontier town so that people could hunt for food... but jewelry is basically just a luxury item so the master crafter would most likely live where he could get more sales (I.E. a big city ) Just my thoughts...

Please do not move any of the crafting from Whillem. Those of us that aren't big city types still need our little corner in Whillem.

That's not it at all. There is no confining of either low or high level characters going on here. The concept was just one of differing level groups spawn in at a few different places, hopefully each with enough conveniance and draw that they may want to hang out there. There would be nothing stopping a high level character from hanging out in West Styne, other than it might not provide him/her with the conveniences of Castille or wherever.
That said I do think there are some issues with the congregation of high level and low level characters in one place.

Our response to deal with PC congregation can be found in Makz's updates for today (7/16 I think).
We'll see how that goes, and if the uber-congregation continues, we can open up a new thread to address why that solution isn't working (if it doesn't work) and possible alternatives.
Closing the thread. (Feel free to start new topics based on some of the content found inside, including but not limited to mac mouses)
