If you ar a RPer, yes, I have issue with that - but Im not going to harp on anyone.
If you are not - then I dont care at all (but if you are not RPing, you better not be RPKing as a no RP character kill is just plain player killing IMO).
Im really not sure how many strict no RPers we have here though. You guys think there are alot of them? I dont. There are definately some that are much more prolific, but most seem to be involved in some RP from time to time.

I don't know, non-RPs hide becaues, well, they don't RP... I think most everyone will RP -if- they get involved in something, I have yet to run into someone who says ((I don't RP, leave me alone)) or something like that.

I think most everyone will RP -if- they get involved in something, I have yet to run into someone who says ((I don't RP, leave me alone)) or something like that. If that's true, I wonder how many non-RP'ers are really on this game? And if there aren't any (or only 2) AND if Makz prefers more of an RP world, why are we still catering to the Non-RP'er? I understand welcoming all styles of play, but it seems a little off(?) to force the majority of players to dance on eggshells for the benefit of only a very few. Of course, I could be way off base here and there could be a vast underground movement of Non-RP'ers plotting my untimely demise....umm I mean, I LOVE non-RP'ers! Yeah, that's the ticket! Acutally I think you would find it easier to ID the roleplayers and put question marks over the rest. Just look at the player list when you login, I usually recogonize most people as RPers, so I would guess there are very few non-RPers.

My opinion on this for those who are interested;-)
I personally find powerlevelling/rushing whatever to be very tacky. I can't really ever think of a good RP reason to justify it (okay maybe one, the 'driven' individual who needs to get stronger but that's a touch weak). Sometimes Hanah has taken younger chars out to see the world: wanna know where she takes them? North Forest. West Styne Swamps. I don't party with them so I don't kill their xp, I just point out some of the local scenery and fill them in while they tackle gnolls. This is a very rare behaviour for Hanah though, and I'm really not interested in doing it anymore as so few newbs really want to know the situation in Fredian it seems...
I've been really, really grossed out by some of the thinly veiled attempts at rushing. To be somewhat crass, I heard one char (who shall remain nameless for their protection) advertising themselves like a five dollar hooker might: "I give great xp, I'll behave"... blah it was nauseating. Starting out Ivan recently the number of tells I got was astonishing.. those who tried to solicit my services in person got an Ivan-style verbal abuse session;-) It goes both ways: the high level folks who abuse and those who want to be abused.
But that being said... even if someone like me finds this behaviour abhorrent, does it really matter? Folks are free to do what they want. That being said, I'm free to think of their behaviour as I will;-) I'm not sure that there is going to be a consensus on this issue but it doesn't hurt to air out everyone's grievances right?

I know I'm guilty of this in the past but I have not been doing it so much lately... it's rather boring actually.... (PL'n) and as fas the RP'r vs non RP'r. I would figure I am one of those in between ppl, sometimes I'm sure you guys would want me around totally RP'n with you guys, but sometimes I just don't feel like it and want to just run around and kill stuff alone or craft alone or something.... but I always come back around... I get lonely... another thing I am just noticing, is sometimes maybe ppl create a PC start playing and it just isnt "right" you know didn't start the right personallity or something.... I say this cause I am finding that I can RP Ventrick (our lil thief everyone is seeming to love to hate much better than I can Erith sometimes... kinda strange, but I think ventrick fits better (I'm really that much of a smartass in real life sometimes.... only sometimes... ) I don't know.... just some of my spare change *edit to add to hanahs* yes when I started ventrick I lost count of all the ppl practically begging me to lvl with them.... it was rather sad....

Hanah, there are solid roleplay reasons for rushing a character. I'm not sure if you consider Phoenix a rush, 33 levels in ~2 months, but I did jump the first 20 fast, intentionaly. Read my story and I explain how/why, I think it fits well with the RP behind Fredian in general. But the point is well taken, I'm not doing any more leveling until the bug is fixed... Unless it takes too long, but I'm trying to contain the itch.

I'm guilty of being power leveled or power levelling someone on occasion. In the past few weeks, however, I done very little of that. With my other characters, I've been mostly solo'ing it when killing things. I prefer being alone and slaughtering monsters most times or be with same leveled party members. I am holding M'k'n'z'y off now from levelling until 1.62 comes out. So I have my new character, Elizabeth and on occasion, Calhoun, to develop

Hmm...well, i can understand from levels 1-25 Phoenix...hell, I was going around solo with Zachaz for a few hours,, who was level 17, and got him up to 23 pretty quickly, So i can see your point there. My concern is seeing people jump TWENTY levels or so in about 2 hours of play....seems a bit lame....i know i AM guilty of PLing in the past (especially 38+) but i was never or shall i ever PL my own chars or someone else's char in that way.
Hanah's point about getting 'tells' for training is also a good one...poor lil' Deekinn got about a dozen tells in a minute of logging asking if he wanted 'training' *sigh*.
Oh well...hopefully v1.62 will stop most of this, and everyone will settle down. (and then we can all whine at another bug that v1.62 brings in lol)

My only positive for power leveling is in the case of high level characters of a single class. The only way that Mala gets more than 6 xp from a monster is to have a low level with her...and furthermore thanks to Bioware, I have to have the complicity of a multiclass 24th levelish character to spawn monsters for her to kill. I run into shocks all the time with Storm and Tisi because they spawn tougher monsters than Mala does. *grins ruefully* Every time I have even attempted to set up training for Mala recently I have gotten bored within a few minutes and gone to RP or fetch things for friends (When it absolutely has to be there yesterday, use Monk Express). For the low-mid levels, a party of like levels does just as nicely and is a lot more fun to RP with. Oh and in defense of some of the notorious PL'ers (I miss Xilo) Everyone that ever leveled Mala has continued to have RP links to her (ya listening Master Drahcir?). *shrugs* I just roll with it and don't worry about the people that are here to PL andmake the nastiest PvP character they can...I have fun RP'ing being dead too

Well I was talking about the RP aspects of it (being a high level char quickly), not the feasibility. I mean once the bug is fixed you will probably be able to reach 30+ VERY fast, solo, no power leveling involved. It's only the bug that is stopping people now. Of course its the bug that's causing it too. Once the bug is fixed people will just be able to do it themselves... If that's RPed then so be it, I don't like the idea of a level 20 in 2 hours, but meh....

When someone asks to be trained, accept. Then start telling them about all the different areas immediately around West Styne, see how fast they leave the party, it's kinda fun.
My first evil character did accept some offers to be trained, he got about 4 levels that way between 2 other characters. He is sidelined, recent updates to Fredian has ruined his intended training (classes, skills and feats became obsolete and taking a 20% HP penalty for things he can nolonger achieve), but I have started work on a second evil character, he won't refuse to be trained if asked, although he is more into finding out how good or evil some of these characters are because he will need associates to carryout his evil schemes, once he decides what he is going to do.
I personally would love to have my old evil character dropped back to 0 xp and then given his xp back, but that is asking a lot because if it happens once or twice and then gets around lots of people ask for it, besides, Addicted said he would only undo a level if it is bugged and an official post about the bug is on the Bioware forums, nothing said about an ever changing world ruining someone's evil scheming.
So yes, I would be willing to let someone powerlevel me, but when asked at higher levels, unless repaying a favor to someone by request for an in game reason, they get the lecture. If they stick with me the lecture does eventually go to showing how to kill some high level creatures while at low level giving them 700+ XP they can strive for on their own (it's been 2 years since someone stayed with me that long, but he turned out to be one hell of a ranger on the server he plays on, I did have a new character on another server listen to what I was telling him right up until he had to go to bed, but that was both in game and basics of NWN training).
