Is it just me, or are others getting spontaneously logged off the forums after a short time? It should leave you on for 3 hours if you dont logoff - but recently Ive been getting kicked in as short as 5 minutes.
If we find this is happening to others, Ill pursue it with Proboards to see if something is going on. Let me know whats happening to you...

Isn't just you, I checked the 'always stay logged in' and that's fixing it for me. But I think it's leaving me logged in when I'm not. Sorry, but you know how much I'm in the boards and I ain't logging in every 3 minutes. Just started over the weekend I think.

I've seen this problem on a bunch of proboards actually, but there isn't really a way to fix it... At least on my side of the fence.
And that's why I'm a PHP bum, heh.
EDIT: I don't beleive the security settings on one's browser actually make a difference, of course, if it's too high, you can't even stay logged in when you transition! Just a thought.

In response to pheonix "always stay logged" That fixed it for me on my work computer but if I log at home or my apartment then I get the booted before long. I have been logging out, not just closing browser and then using always stay logged button each login but if I forget and cant get to the computer I last "always stay logged" on then I cant post because it wont let me stay logged in long enough.

Many of you may have missed this, but, since the weekend, the time on the forums has been seriously messed up as well... for me it shows 3 hours back no matter when I am logged on.

Now that you mention it If your West coast (USA) and 3 hrs back on time in forum but Im east coast (USA) and its 10:11am here and the forum shows 04:20. I guess that is in the am and not 16:20 (military) so that is 6 hrs for me??? hmmm... Maybe we could nail this down with some more examples. Or maybe not.

I'm not sure what's going on there. I access the forums at work and home, both machines are now set to "always stay logged in" and seem to work like before. Of course I cleared my cookies recently, when the problem started (thinking the timeout issue may be cookie related). Kill the cookie for this site on both machines and reset it and check the always stay logged in button. That's what I did anyways and it doesn't seem to kick me off.
Of course I may or may not be closing the browser window/switching sites, not sure...

My time was messed up too, but I noticed that my time offset was no longer setup correctly in my profile - I fixed that and have been right since...

Well my time offset is -3 normally ( EST is the time that forums run on... and currently if I have it on -3 it is showing 2:48am and that is not even CLOSE to right... as well as the fact it is supposed to be 2:36am then.... :/ so.. something is severely stuffed... at the very least my end. My time was messed up too, but I noticed that my time offset was no longer setup correctly in my profile - I fixed that and have been right since...

Eeek - it gets worse. My test forum on probord25 reports the time as 10:42am (when the offset is 0) my one here is 6:13am and the real time here is 11:04. Basically thier time is all messed up - they are off in moe than odd offsets (which could be - maybe they have servers in differnt places) but the minutes should be the same (or reletivly close)...
*builds an evidence file for proboards...*

Someone else beat us to the punch, looks like something may be wrong with our server. I added that we are having the same issue: Board URL: healthybetta.proboards19.comProblem: We have been having the problem since last week that members are logged out almost immediately after they sign in to the forum. They log in, go to post, and they are suddenly a guest again. Cookies are enabled and minutes to stay logged on are set at 360. Some have tried the "Always Stay Logged In" option and it still is not always working. Any ideas of what could be causing this? Also, I noticed ever since server 19 has been back up and running (our forum was completely down for a day last week) the main time for the forum is now behind by about 5 hours. I know I can change this in my own profile, but is there a way to do this for the board itself? Thanks for any advice you can lend. Incidentally though there are cookie issues with Proboards that some of you may need to be aware of - this issue just cropped up, so it shouldt be related, but FYI: FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS Problems Logging In- I login fine, but when I click a link it logs me out!
Your browser is not accepting cookies properly. First check to make sure you have cookies enabled. Also, in Internet Explorer 6 you need to make sure that you have 3rd Party Cookies enabled.
Your members need to enable cookies, tell them to do the following:
- Click on tools on the menubar on your browser
- Click on Internet Options on the drop menu
- On the window that pops up, click on the privacy tab
- Put the arrow and track so that the arrow is on low
- Click ok
This will enable third party cookies:
- Click on tools on the menubar on your browser
- Click on Internet Options on the drop menu
- On the window that pops up, click on the security tab
- Click on the custom button
- On the little window that pops up, scroll down to where it says cookies, and make sure the radio button is in the enabled position
- Click save
Hint from Ryan If the above didn't work try clicking "Always Stay Logged In" when you attemt to log in.

I have mine set at +20, but I'm just twinking it. Seriously I never had the time set right, I think it was always an hour off. hehe, Now it's at +5 and it's correct (I'm in CST). edit: --er correct as in it's 12:01, but it says 12:14, so not really correct at all... But the offset is right now, I think.

I dont think they care about the time on the servers... either that or they are all messed up - I found the following an hour ago or so:
Local Time (Central US time Zone): 11:08am Proboard19 (with 0 time offset): 6:20am Proboard25 (with 0 time offset): 10:48am Proboard32 (with 0 time offset): 12:07pm
Server32 is the only one which is probably right (from a nearest minute perspective). Obviuosly when they did maintinence on server 19 the other day, they never fixed thier clock.

I'm sorry you guys, but I don't have a problem Everything is fine. Even the time. I do not have anything fancy checked though. I enter my name/pass each time I login. Well, Mozilla does for me, but proboards doesn't know that.
