---- PLAYER HOUSING ----
Homes may be considered for players who meet the following requsites:
.....a. Been a regular for not less than 2 real life months
.....b. Contribute to the community (ie. good rp practices, productive forum contributions, etc...)
.....c. Request a home
Obviously the more prominent you are, the more likely your request is to be granted. Home development takes a back seat to almost all other aspects of server development. Please do not request a house for prestige alone - homes represent extra work for Makz and as such should be truely desired.
Makzimia Edit : Just an update on this. In case anyone is feeling left out of homes, I suggest you look at RPing with the existing open homes around various areas, the only difference if you "owned one" is you have a lock on the door and a couple of private chests. We long ago exceeded "advised" area count from bioware. The idea in the future is to provide persistent housing, with weekly RL time cost for it. I rely on the good grace of addicted and Salandra for something that complex though, so, when that is done, we will implement it. I do not like any of the current scripting for it out there.
---- CHARACTER CHANGES ----
The only change we will typically do for your character is that of Alignment. It can be done by DMs in game with a wand. It will ONLY be dont for legitimate RP reasons.
Any other character changes will not be done for any reason short of a Bioware bug such as the monk/weaponmaster example. Bioware admitted in their HotU forums that there is a bug in the NWN engine where a weaponmaster cannot select unarmed as a weapon of choice. This feature is supposed to be available. If you can point to somewhere in the Bioware forums where where there is a developer's admission of a bug, your request might be granted.
Typical things requested that will always be refused:
.....1. .bic modifications - character editing
.....2. De-leveling (except for legit Bioware bugs as above)
.....3. Character Renaming
.....4. Character moving (from player to player, even if they are both your accounts)
.....5. Material for us to implement (like .bic files)
Simply, the size and encumberance of such a role (more people asking for it than we think people would have the gall for) is larger than we had anticipated. Apparently such requests are not isolated incidents. We have also found people who receive changes keep asking for them, and wouldn't stop even if did it for them 6 times, 10 times, or a million times, because some players intrinsically just don't know how to get it together anyway. Plus with the database tie-ins it can become more complicated.
*Spend time on your name
*Spend time on your description
*Spend time on your voiceset
*Spend time on your leveling
*Get it right.
If you are really concerned about your build progession, there are many NWN leveler Mods you may download that will allow you to build from the ground up. That is the safest way to make sure you will not be unpleasantly surprised down the road.
---- QUESTS ----
All Quests work as expected, have been extensivly tested, and follow these guidelines:
1. Most quest items serve no purpose other than props. The database records your retrival of items ONLY after you have been sent to do so and only if recieve from the correct location. A -> B -> C only, A -> C -> B-> wont work.
2. I always believed being able to kill or not kill a NPC at end of quest should be optional, you have to talk to them to complete the quest, not kill them. In fact a couple of the quests give the option, ie: of buying the object back, or escaping. If you have talked to all involved and done the journey... it's over.
3. On completion of quests, ALL members of the party must be within sight of the NPC giving the reward, otherwise NOTHING! again, this is to stop people splitting up on quests.
4. Each quest resets 7 real life days after its completion. Do NOT come and ask any of the DM's for XP or gold not got in a quest, as we will all tell you from now on, catch it next time.
