Wednesday (1-21-04), 6:30pm.
I have decided to go and do what phoenix has suggested and make a quest involving two parties, good and evil. First of all, I can only be in so many places at once and I have no idea how this is going to work out. If it is bad, I probably won't run this type of event again. If it is good, we can see more of it. All in all though, if I don't step out on a limb and try something new, we will never know which it will be, will we?
I will try to time it so that while I am talking with one party, the other one is walking acrossed long distances to buy time.
ADVANCE WARNING BEFORE HAND
THIS QUEST WILL CONTAIN PLAYER VERSUS PLAYER (PVP) CONTENT. YOU MAY DIE, BE ASKED TO KILL, AND YOUR RELATIONSHIP WITH OTHERS COULD BE JEOPARDIZED
----
I am capping each party (good and evil) at 6 members each. This will be *enforced* strictly for this quest. Only one party will be victorious.
Neutral characters may side with either party. Lawful Neutrals may prefer to side with the Good (this quest involves some law violations), and TN/CN's can side with either or not participate (a CN might pick evil team for enough gold or some wooing from evil team).
I would like to see a lot of good conduct from all of you about restraint during engagements (espeically rolling), but to be honest, don't expect any. Assume the worst. If you feel you can't bare to have your quest ruined by infighting or inappropriate behavior, just don't show up at all. It MAY go really well and exceed expectations if there is a mature cast, but don't count on it.
I havn't finished the entire thing. There will be a loose RP basis, and I may tighten it up and insert various RP roadblocks and take the high road. There is also the possibility I may see it fits better as an "Action Event (of willing participants)" with a downsized RP basis where some people can have their RP aftermath while the rest don't have to take it too strenously. I'll re-post which path I've taken before the event.
