hear ye hear ye announcing the return of the battle nights... starting this friday (tonite) at 6:30PM IoF time (-8 UTC) and lasting until it ends. (unless of course it will interfere with something else, then we can put em off till whenever) I will try to have these weekly again (like I used to) sorry for having not been around much lately.  -ride |

thanks to everyone who showed last night... even you stragglers at the end there. I will try to do this at least weekly... maybe more who knows.. maybe 2x a night on fridays... etc..etc.. let's see how popular it becomes again. (anyone who has been coming to my battle nights can stop reading, I am just going to post my simple rules once again for all our new players ) 1) *ANYONE* is welcome... you do not have to fight, you may simply sit there and watch and cheer if you like. It is not a strictly IC event, tho we do RP it to some extent, it is usually a mixture of both IC/OOC. 2)Players challenge each other to battles and agree on thier own rules for that battle. I expect the higher lvl's not to just get in there and smack down the lower lvl's (within reason of course... if a lower lvl wants to fight you and they know you are a much higher lvl then you, then go for it... I have seen severe upsets occur down there (ole daniel watermore comes to mind )) 3)I ask that the participants of each battle come to me with thier names and lvl's as I do keep "score" and I do give out prizes to the winner of each battle based on what lvl you are, who you are fighting and the "entertainment" value of the fight And if someone is particularly good out there, or does something impressive (like a lvl 12 getting a 35+ down to "injured") then you might get something even if you lose too. that's really about it, I have purposfully made it a very open ended, simple, informal thing, and it all depends on who shows up... so SHOW UP, last night even we were commenting on how we need more low lvl's in there cause those fights are always the most impressive. |

I'm not a big fan of PvP, but even I might bring along a character or two at some point.

my hard drive partition that nwn lived on has gone out to pasture.
...don't know if I'll have it back together by this friday... but I might.
I do have a couple of old drives lying about, but I am not sure what state they in either.... I don't want to start using another one only to have it, too, crap out in a couple of months.

Hope you'll get it to work, your battle nights are always fun to be at (although the last two.....when i arrived it was over already and only fought a few monsters) anyway, i can't be on before 8pm PST (hey thats 4am my time and i do need some sleep after a full day of lectures and labs) if anything is left by then and after, i'll gladly fight it...if not...well...spawn me a few more monsters to kill  |

Sleep. Yes unfortunately I need that too.  But if i'm still around at 3:30 am I'd come and take a look. And perhaps fight as well. Last time I was there, it was most excellent entertainment. But that was ages ago.... |

PST == GMT - 8 it would be 02:30GMT i did do the math wrong tho... der... never claimed to be a mathmatician and i'm still doing it at 6:30PM PST do your own math from now on |
