---- CHESTS ----
Private Chests are scattered thought the Island. They will safely hold 25 pages of general items OR 7 pages of stacked items. Do not put in stacks of scrolls or Holy Water, these stacks may reduce in size. In Shards (west Styne Blacksmiths) there are redundant chests so that if one gets stuck open, the other will get you access to your items - this was done due to the high traffic of these chests.
'Stuck' Chests - Chests may remain stuck open, when this happens clikcing on the open chest will cause the chest to attempt to auto-fix itself (big thanks to Addicted for the scripting). It is usually successfull, but the best thing is to try avoid being the cause of it. Be responsible and do your best to avoid breaking chests by watching the following:
Lag - Lag is generally a client side memory leak - If you are lagging, please relog before using private chests
Long opens - Do not open a chest and go afk, just do what you came to do and close it
Opening other containers - Do not open other containiners without closing the private chest first
Incomplete transactions - If you put something in a chest (or take from) wait till the item has moved before closing the chest
Nesting containers - Containers do not nest, placing a full container in a chest will cause it to unload, if doing this with stacked items (ingots, scrolls, potions, etc...) the chest may stick or you may overload NEVER do it when lagging or if there is any question as to the amount already in the chest.
Overloading Chests: - Putting in more than 25 pages of general items OR around 7 pages of stacked items will cause your chests inventory to not display properly and genrate error messages for all to see. If you accidentally overload a chest, your best solution is to unload it. To unload, unload what you see, close chest, typically if you wait a minute and reopen it you will usually see some more inventory, remove that, repeat until done. For best results leave the emptied chest unused for a day (server reload) before filling properly.
---- CURRENCY ----
On Person - The current limit is 30 million carryable, excess is truncated upon area change.
In Bank - The current limit is 90 million in the bank, excess is truncated upon server reload (daily usually). The bank currently has a Fredian Tax Charge of 5% of your balance once every 7 real days.
---- TRAVEL ----
PORTALS - There are a handfull of portal locations throughout the world. Some of these are level restriceted.
STONES OF KE'HAAR- On log in you will recieve a book of Ke'haar you use that after talking to up to 3 stones. Talking to a Stone of Ke'Haar essentially sets up a portal anchor for you, which you can recal by using the book. You can overwrite the 3 entries as you move around the world. PLEASE NOTE!!! Entries are NOT persistent and never will be! If you come back on a reload the book will show up your entries, simply because server saves your PC every 4 mins, BUT it may show as <INVALIDTOKEN> where name of area should be. This does not effect being able to then overwrite that entry with the stone you wish to use.
---- ENVIRONMENT ----
DESERT HEAT v2.4 - Heat in the desert will damage you (half intensity at night) unless you keep hydrated by drinking water. Empty water flasks (potions) are available from Habib in the North Desert and also now Wino in the Castille City Gates area. To fill an empty flask stand near a water source in desert and use the empty flask on self it will give you a water flask which when drank then replaces itself with an empty one again. Beware some water sources can be bad!
FROST BITE v1.0 - Cold in the winter areas will damage you (double intensity at night) unless you wear special clothes, items or use a campfire. Clothing in the following forms are available from Shard and various other vendors of Fredian at nominal prices. Cloak, Warm Cloak, Winter Cloak, Warm Winter Clothes, Heavy Winter Clothes. Also a campfire kit is available and each one will give you 4 hours ( 4 x 6mins RL ) of burning.
ICE - Some winter regions may cause you to slip and remain prone for a moment.
GAS - Some sewer regions have areas where the methane levels became caustic.
---- MONSTER SPAWNS ----
Scalablity - The VAST MAJORITY of monster spawns are predicated by level, so it is worthwhile to reinvestigate areas at higher a higher level for XP purposes. The few exceptions to this are a handfull of static spawns for drops of craftable components (pelts) and a few high/max level encounters.
Lag vs. XP - Alot of monsters in any area generates lag across the whole server. To combat this problem, IoF is not overrun with monsters but instead has them stategically placed. To compensate for the lower count, XP for monsters is higher than the norm.
---- REJECTED CONCEPTS ----
Wings & Tail - With the exception of the default Red dragon wings, players will not be given the option for other wing types. A tail may be added by custom crafting your armor
