I have noticed two issues when crafting.
If these have already been reported, skip them.
1. While creating an item, the interface frequently tells me I created an entirely different item. For example. I am making a iron dagger and the interface says I successfully created blue dye.
2. The Fletching is not working at all. I used to be able to create arrows and a couple of the arrow types are green. Now every time I try, I get an error and do not succeed. No, I do not have the error handy, and no I am not crafting from a bag.
Thanks Kliest

Don't worry about #1, it's known and since it doesn't actualy affect the crafted item, I'd bet is real low on the priority list.
#2. The same thing happened to me at the end of jewel crafting. Chances are you have too many craftable resources on you. With jewlery it's handy to have a little bit of every metal and gem(the way the scale works you may go from mithril-ruby to gold-emerald). Well, that ended up being about 10 bags FULL of craftable resources. When I attempted to craft an item, it would always fail, but wouldn't generate a script error.
Try emptying some of your resources into a chest and try with just what you need to craft the item. The system allows you to have a lot of different craftable resources, but there is some limit.

Ouch.
That sounds very possible. I have collected bags of each mineral so that I could make anything at anytime.
I will give it a shot.
I believe I read not to keep bags in chest too. So I will have to empty them the slow way.
And is it just me, or does stuff disappear out of chests? It seems like if I have ten of an item, I will go back and only have one of the item

Actually, you can put a bag in a permanent chest but keep the following in mind:
1. It will empty itself upon putting it in the chest. 2. If the bag and its contents put you above the chest limit, you will break the chest (chest limits are 7 pages of stacked items like ingots and gems or 25 pages of normal non stacked items) 3. Some stacked items will reduce quantity when put in a chest. I dont recall which... Ive never had that problem with ingots or gems though.

Yep, do bags 1-2 at a time and check the chest to see how full it is before moving to the next ones.

As soon as possible, I will be finding a way to stop storage of bags, I always thought it didn't allow them, based on bad information . However, MOST common reason missing items in a chest is went in, in a bag! SO... DO NOT place bags in private chests, AND.... if look at the server window, where all those pretty messages come up, and see a pcont_on_close TMI error, guess what, you stuffed up .

Makz says no - so its no, but I will put in an official plea here to ask him reconsider. Anyone who has been invovled in crafting relys heavily on bags and personal chests. Problem is that unloading them to a chest manually involves: 1. manual move of items to your inventory (usually 35 stacked item moves) 2. manual move from your inventory to the chest (usually 35 more moves) 3. multiply that by 20 bags or so every crafting session.
The other method was to be careful to not overfill the chest and the same process was: 1. move 1 bag into chest 2. closes chest 3. open chest and move 1 bag back to your inventory.
Difference of about 65 moves x ~20 per crafting session. (total of up to 1300 clicks/drags) I know the concern of having peole breaking chests and hurting stability... but is ther some other way than nixing the auto-unload of bags?

I would like to keep the ability to dump a bag into a chest.
Right now you just have to get a feel for what you can do safely, but the alternative would be a mess for players. I'd rather lose items in a chest (which has never happened to me, or I have never noticed) vs. all the extra clicks.
x20 is a small load for some, I do 36 bags/trip, and others do closer to 50.
Oh and there are like a million chests on the server spread your stuff out a little. There are several chests near portals/kehaar stones like the Castille crafting hall, the N. Desert ^.^, or even Shard's in W. Styne.

Actually I only used the 20 example as the content of many bags never make it to a chest. When Vugor was in full crafting swing, he usually held 52 bags - 35 or so of which contained crafting components or were spares for inventory management needed for tailoring.
In any event, im sure Makz can see our distress...

Just to clarify on my losing items in chests.
I have never put a bag, empty or full, in a chest.
Any items that disappeared were put there one at a time.
That said, I am not a record keeper, and I do not write down what I am putting in chests, so I can not provide any better information about what I am missing. It was nothing earth shattering. I do know a lot of collected flowers for dye disappeared, but as I could not use them at the time, it was no big dea.
