My apologies, I foolisy assumed that the 'suggestions and comments' heading meant you wanted suggestions and comments. I will do my level best never to make any in the future, but at the time that I made them I did not know it would upset so many people...
Not sure WHY a simple suggestion like 'move the zombies away from the freeway' was taken as an accusation and complaint, but I'm sure it's nothing a few years of psychotherapy won't clear up for the offended parties. Again, my apologies...
Vis a vis your other comments, I too like to explore, but the high rate of death has kept me close to home most of the time. (I really must be bad at this, as critters who rate 'easy' when I examine them kill me off so easily.)
Lucky for me I really enjoy the things I can do there... gonna try and be a really good weaponsmith someday. When I need to wander, I use my ring-o-invisibility and walk around everything... never worried much about leveling anyway, and since I'm still having fun, I don't much care if it takes me a long time...
As to critters in the sewers, I've seen the wererats, and even gone down a level below that, but as I couldn't open any of the doors I've never gone back down.
Have a wonderful new year...

The suggestions you made Lazarus were used by me in some cases to clean up abnormalities around Inner Styne. The sewers addicted refers to are under Styne Harbor, not North Styne, and there are two lots that cojoin from the inner harbor through to the harbor itself. It again just proves one thing to me, players are not exploring once they have been shown what SOME regulars think are the places to go . Never think suggestions and comments are not taken onboard. Some are, some are disregarded for various reasons, and some are put on the backburner. As many here will tell you, if it can be done, if it is not unbalancing, I usually do it. Makz.

It appears that someone woke up grumpy this morning. Seriously though, it looked to me like Addicted and others (myself included) were just trying to explain to you why things are done the way they are and that there are likely other alternatives you have not run across. Not trying to flame you for make a suggestion here (on the suggestion forum Please dont stop making suggestions - I think I speak for the DMs here in saying that they like to hear feedback, and encourage suggestions, just that sometimes the answer will be no. My apologes for insiring your apologies.

well now doesn’t that just about say it all? I do believe so *chuckles* To the point and he even sharpened it! You said it so I wouldn’t have too. I don’t like posting locations of areas here for there are many such places as addicted just said. lol as one of my favorite characters once said (sing song voice) " Just keep swimming , just keep swimming, swimming , swimming, Just keep swimming."

Lazarus,
I have recently joined this community and my first character, Nias Trams (rogue/sorcerer/RDD), he has spent most of his time learning trade skills (something new to me that I have really enjoyed).
But this past weekend I created his cousin, Fal Druar. Now that I have spent a couple weeks on the server learning, Fal Druar (bard/RDD/wizard), while not a powerhouse, is very well suited to adventuring. His best offensive skill is trapping, can take out many of the big impossible npcs with this skill. And like Nias, his best defense is invisibility and run.
As far as Renastadt goes and the locked merchants door goes, if you find the storyline, it is a city living in fear. I could be wrong, not being the creator, but to me this explains why the door is locked.
As for suggestions, keep reading the new posts, Mak updates almost daily. There are new bookcases in the jewelry smithing building that Nias can set his many bags of items in and go to crafting without causing a server wide error message to appear. Also, once you get high enough level you can seek out an npc and get a map of many of the common areas. It was created differently than I suggested, but was implemented. It may have been suggested in the past before I joined.
I have a hard enough time keeping up with the current posts, let alone time to dig through the past posts, Mak is on top of things and hopefully will not burn out.
And for rogues, while all classes can craft traps, only rangers can be as good as rogues in setting them, except when a rogue takes Master Skills and can set them in combat without worrying about failures and critical failures (which blow up in your face (have did from being hit then my own trap killing Fal)).
Use Magic Devices is a skill shared with bards, and by itself, is very valuable. Using magic scrolls, wands and staves is only a small part of that skill. Depending on your race, there will be few things in the game world you cannot use when you have this skill.
