i was wondering about plces of worship. can a god of substantial following get temples and such erected outside the main pantheon? I am currently tryin to start a guild/following for a FR diety, Heironeous, and if the members increase i would just like to have a common ground. (anyone interested in joining check guild forum or contact Ian IC)

Hello Footless,
There are a few sites that are specialised to a given deity (the first one that springs to my mind is Anah's shrine near the Clevian frontier). I obviously can't speak for Makz but I suspect that you have to put the horse before the cart here... organise your group before a shrine/place of worship is assembled. In the mean time there are some temporary locations... the cave in the upper Fredian mountains has some seating areas and a pulpit, there is a shrine-like object in East Styne (IIRC)...

There are a few places of worship, the pantheon would come to mind first. There are a few places of specifc worship like Anah's shrine, or the new temple of the wicked for evil types. The temples of Tyr are kinda netural place (since we a respawn there). So take your pick. I'd bet if you get a decent following over time something special might happen, all up to Makz. of course.

Oh my, now we are considering actually raising Hanah to a sub-deitical level! Better watch out Hanah, if youre not careful Anah may cut you loose for stepping in her territory! Heh, j/k

As in all things that concern construction, I will never bend my rule on such things to take time and involvement FULLY in Fredian over at least 2 mths... this has generally speaking proven a good rule of thumb for us, and I am sticking with that, no matter HOW many players join a guild. My time on such things is earnt, not mandatory due to numbers, as far as deities go, you are new to Fredian, you could not possibly in a short time get followers, it is unlikely you came with many, if ANY of your fellow people from where you came from, note, there is one or two exceptions of sisters arrived together... and as such, you would maybe, have a following by the time needed to be considered. If not, then there are the islands accepted deites, and of course, the forgotten ones Makz.

Hmm, if you worship well enough, will the god/goddess notice you and bless yah'? Nudge nudge, wink wink! Lol, I'm such a leech... But honestly, if I'm given the chance, I will sit in a lonely room and endlessly RP to nobody, well, technically somebody...
I understand feet's issue, but sadly, I know how tough it is to build crap! ((I'm trying to make it easy on the DMs by making my own creatures, or templates for them, before I submit any quests and garbage... I feel the pain!))
And don't forget Footless, you gotta' be extremely influential to get anything... ((Appreciates the comments from everyone ^ ^))

Footless,
You said Heironeous is a FR deity. I'm an AD&D player so I don't know much about WotC changes, but I remember in TSR Heironeous was a Greyhawk god, having an endless battle with the evil one (can't remember his name). Does that changed? If so, is there a book where they listed this changes?
A friend told me that the major change was the fact that Bane is back from the dead, used his son Iachtu Xvin (I can’t remember if this is the right spelling) and Fzoul was worshiping Bane once more.
Thanks…

Nor, Heironeous came along with 3rd and i dont think he's specific to any setting. bane is back in FR and im not really sure about that last part...i'll look into it when i get off work. ....additionally i knew about the pantheon and various "starting" locations but the only deities in the pantheon are server made correct? can there be an addition anywhere with the Major gods of 3rd ed FR?

During the next few months work "religously" at recruiting followers and following his requirements and Makz will probably allow you to build a shrine somewhere, like in your home. But homes must be earned, gold is only the last consideration when Makz decides who gets a home and what goes with it.
A good example is Ragabash Trading Co. in Castille, that is a home/business for a player. The player deserved it in Makz opinion and it was created.
Many character/players have homes, but time and effort is required.
I look forward to the day I get my, hopefully, sea side cave.

You will find htat there are some folks that cling to their old gods or identify them with Fredian gods ie Torm-Ithran.
There area coulple of clerics of Corellon Larethian out there, and they actively speak of their god. I have noticed a few Cyric followers who cling to their god though there is a readily available Fredian substitute.
You will find that throughout history it is common for folks to simply pick the local deity in whom they see the face of their own gods and adopt them. However, here I will skip the lecture on religious migrations and move on to the real issue. You don't have to be important or involved in all the plots or 40th level or anything of thelike to eventually get a shrine to your god. You have to stick around, be consistent in your RP and an overall asset to the world (not a griefing whining headache fore the dm's), and after a few real life months your request will be considered and weighed against the needs of the whole game.
I have never heard of the DM's turning down a well thought out and balanced request from a proven player.

Aeradon would like to commission the best sculpture in Fredian to errect a life size replica of Hanah in West Styne near the landing zone for new players (not really enough room by the fire).
