I've never had any problems with getting pick pocketed before but I'm just wondering how in the world I would'nt notice a 50 pound full plate go missing from my back pack, magic pocket ,etc etc etc.... I mean when was the last time you seen a thief walk up behind someone carrying something heavy like a tv in his bag and take it out without the person noticing the wiegt loss on his bag?
Just a suggestion things that are very heavy realisticly should'nt be so easy to steal or is pick pocket suposed to be a skill where with enough points you become lengendary at it?
Just my opinion anyway I don't really have a problem with the current system but its worth taking a look at.

Some servers limit PP to stackables and cash. This is more realistic, but the flip side of that is, if you are carrying 1600 pounds of stuff, how much would you notice the loss of 50 pounds? Think about the relative strengths of many of the characters? Would Preyseeker really notice that 50 pounds when he is already handling more than a ton of ore without so much as a twitch or grunt?

Yeah, Vugor (wearing his standard items) can carry over 11,000 pounds of stuff - I dont know if you even could fit that much in your inventory if you had it all stuffed in non-weight reducing bags Plus the best heavy armor (Armor of the Creator) only weighs 5lbs. So losing his best armor accounts for .045% of his capacity. I will not argue though that somone with a more normal STR that only carries 500lbs should massivly notice if 10% of his carrying capacity was suddenly taken off his yolk. Another thought with this is most people carry thier heavy stuff in WR bags - so the total effect weight difference might be insignificant anyway. One other thing of note (if Im wrong, please correct me) - I believe that only unequiped items may be stolen, so they cant strip the armor off your back. Something to keep in mind if you are around the untrustworthy types

Consider there are a MILLION scenarios that explain how/why a thief PPs an item of any size. Remember PP is a broad description of stealing something off of you, not necessarly taking something out of your pocket. It could mean they cut the ties that hold the item to your backpack, or cut the strings on a purse with money in it. It's not always pick pocket as the skill is named after.
Remember, thieves are neither prolific or extreamly powerfull, why limit them more?

The very notion of an 8 page inventory itself, which can probably carry well over 40+ suits of full plate and the notion of being able to carry 1600 lbs is pretty crazy I think PP is probably about just as crazy. It's a mad, mad, mad, mad world.

My simple answer to this question is no its not. A 40th level rogue is just as good at pickpocketing as a fighter is at dropping a dragon in a single blow with a death crit or a mage at stopping time itself...think about it.

This is more of a question regarding pick pocketing. Can a thief take a bag with all of it's contents? Sorry if I should have read this elsewhere, I haven't come across it.

2 items...and bags don't get pickpocketd full You can thank the over-exuberant thieves of the past for the 2 item/game day limitation.

One more thing about pick pocketing. Once I was killed by a shadowdancer. He raised me, and when I went to roll my d20, I noticed that my emote wand was missing. *magically* it appeared at my feat when I mentioned this to the attacker. Is it possible that it was stolen from me? If so, maybe there should be items that can't be stolen (feather, trade skill journal, emote wand). I also found more than 2 of my items tossed about on the ground in another room. Seems someone was having a bit of fun.

Most of the time thieves just return anything extra. I never have a problem with them cleaning me out as long as they return the extras...
