Ok I am not sure if this has been mensioned before but with the massive amounts of players and the massive amounts of fire beetles in the mines level 1 I think it could be causing a bit of lag. Nobody picks them up and they take forever to disappear... if never. could Makzimia change the drop to stop them from dropping it? There is no point to them because you can only sell them for one gp and not even as a noob did I pick them up. So could you remove them to reduce lag that I am getting, though slight, after day 10.
BTW the lag I am getting is not combat lag but it stops me from going through area transitions.

Fire beetle bellies are used in weapon crafting...Also, shard can make you a weapon, Wend's sticker or something like that. I think that one needs bellies too. About the lag...I'm probably not the one to answer that. But perhaps this post will help if you want to know more about lag. All I can say is that I've seen an increase of lag lately....especially late in my evening (IoF +9)....

Oh yeah I forgot about the Flame dagger and possibly other items that were added. And your right, maybe not drop it completely but reduce the time for it to disapppear. Otherwise it sits there.

How about just making them sellable in Salandra's or the Mage Store like Makz did with the Skeleton Bones and other items.

I may be wrong, but I don't think the disappearance of the bellies is time related. The area cleans itself when someone leaves the area...but only when noone else is in the area.

*cheers* SOmeon paid attention to our lectures. The bellies (and anything else on the ground) disappear by cleaner script when there is no longer anyone in the area. It is rare for there to be more than a dozen or so on the grounds unless we have more than one new person killing them for the xp while someone else is mining. The lag in the mines area is more due to bats and the other standard causes of lag. IF Makz wants to make 'em a buyable, all good, if not, you know what causes lag, so be a philanthropist and pick 'em up and carry 'em to the trash

I don't think that having fire beetle bellies available at Salandra's would be a good idea. Granted, it's not difficult to get a bunch of bellies if you go hunting--but it does take some time. If the bellies were available for purchase, I would make HUGE amounts of gold in the course of minutes. Flame daggers are worth 50k gold to sell, and they don't need many ingots.
No, if you could buy those bellies, people will start running around with even more gold than they do now (and it's already excessive). Besides, I somewhat like having the fire beetles where they are, so I can hire n00bs to go hunt and collect the bellies in return for gold (5 to 10k per belly).

Fire Beetles are also used extensively for fletching as well (or is it another component for fire arrows :\)

It *is* Fire Beetles bellies for those Arrows of Fire.
You need about 9 million of them.

Yeah, you should see my frozen heart collection As mentioned above, that be a good way to collect those fire bellies, and well...that won't be much of a problem collecting them; you just need a whole mess load of them .
