Pack Oxen

What exactly is the purpose of a Pack Ox? Maybe I'm just dumb, but I haven't got one to work in any way useful for me .

I've tried all options and the dumb ox won't follow me to another area.

I've tried to take more than one of its bags with me while mining, but I can't do that either. One bag only holds 6 chunks of ore, which isn't much considering I usually bring back 50 or so per trip. If the dumb beast can't leave West Styne then there's no point in running back and forth to it for new bags when I can just go one area further into the blacksmith's to smelt it.

Am I missing something, or is that the way they're supposed to be? If I'm just dumb, go ahead and say so, just as long as you tell me what I'm doing wrong while you're at it. ;D

To make the Pack Ox follow you i think you just need to make sure you've got it on a leash, i recommend using the shortest one available, then it should follow you, and i think, if i am remembering one of Makz's updates correctly, that when you start mining ore it should automatically load into the Pack Ox's bags after your inventory is full? Well that's if it's near you when you start to mine...i think...

<EDIT> I apologise i forgot Makz had to remove the code for the The Pack Ox to autoload ore into its bags. It looks like you'll have to load 'em up manually

Oxen are buggy and not worth the time in my opinion, however if there is a non-busy DM online we can possess them and walk them through transitions for you. Frankly I learned ages ago when they did follow complacently not to use them. Try having a crash with an ox load of myrk or addy on it, and I assure you that you will go buy one just to kill it in sacrifice to the gods that they might save you from crash the next time.
