i suggest that there be a diety for each type of play like a diety for magic users and then dwarfs (fighter types) so on and so forth. and that a high level person preferably level 40 who is a good roleplayer be in charge of letting the followers into the "guild". and that each "type" or diety has it's own town for it's own shops. for everything from spells to armor and weapons. i think it will get the players even more involved into the roleplay of the game and give them a drive of someone to serve . and to bring glory to his god. just a suggestion. please respond.

All good suggestions. But the player diety thing has been discussed here. Search for the reply's They should answer your querry hopefully. As for Dieties on Fredian. We already have some wonderfull work done by Addicted2RPG. Find the pantheon! Or check Information and FAQS here. I suggest the pantheon. More fun that way. I'll be happy to point you in the right direction IG. edit: Try this link makzimia.proboards19.com/index.cgi?board=important&action=display&thread=1073952849Hope that worked?

Hmmm, I just thought of this when looking at that link you mentioned, Serp; it would be nice that each of them have a favored weapon. Its for those clerics that really want to RP and devote to the Fredian Panthalon. Anyway, that was my .02 on the matter.

Any that comes to hand and best helps to make the person reaching for it's life better I think a few people have turned Anah into a peacenik without really thinking about what 'helps others to help themselves' means. She may be non-aggressive but when I was a very small child I took my first broken arm (at full retreat) to our little old healer lady and not only did she hit the boy that broke my arm over the head with her walking stick hard, but she wasn't any too gentle splinting my arm up because she wanted me to remember why brawling was a very bad idea particularly with boys bigger than myself.

I have nothing against smarting people with sticks or ear twisting. So how does killing you with a weapon help you to help yourself?

OK, I apologise in advance for dragging this thread away from the Tick and spooning (oo-err) to serious stuff.
I like the idea of having some more detail on the deities. Favoured weapons, favoured colours, holy days. It means characters have a visible means to express their worship. It gives us a good oportunity to play with crafting and dye pots.
For example, in the Forgotten Realms if you see a dwarf with a warhammer wearing red and silver armour it's a good guess they are a follower of Moradin.
Right, I'll start off with an idea for Jotham, the deity that my halfling worships. Bear in mind I'm making this up as I go along...
_____ Jotham believes in taking the fight to wrongdoers in the only language they understand - violence and death. Followers of Jotham use the most effective weapons and the most effective armour they can wield. Jotham does not believe in half-measures. Jotham himself wields a long sword and a shield and wears full plate armour.
Jotham's worshippers always wear plain, no-nonsense, functional colours. Dark iron, dark copper, brown, dark red. Colours that say "I mean business." _____
Cheers Craig

I have seen a few instances of uniforms from organized religion already. I know the Zadok crew had some colors going (I think it different uniforms for the slaves and the masters too), and I think the Naphtalians and Jothamites may have had some uniforms going on too. Mala, did you force your people to wear ... white? I forget. Nothing is stopping a person from logging in saying they are the self-proclaimed prophet of blah blah deity, and claiming you hear directly from that deity of course, and telling people that if they follow you... err your deity and wear certain colors then they'll be in blah blah deity's good graces. That is the joy of RP. Just organize your own religion. I think holidays is a nice idea brought up.

LOL Nat, Frost and I picked Jotham at different times and spontaneously selected the same colors. We never discussed it. My old guild had no uniform. Who in their right mind puts spies in a uniform? And if the Zadok crew has colors, they never told my little cleric of Zadok...must have missed the memo. Pretty much we all do whatever we like where worship is concerned. Usually new folks kind of defer to the older more established religious zealots, but there is no rule saying they have to. In fighting for religious power is always a fun plot

peasant1: "look, it's a spy!" peasent2: "how can you tell?" peasent1: "just look at their garb, see that symbol of a finger over the mouth?" peasent2: "yeah..." peasent1: "That's the symbol for spies."
;D
