Well, in West Styne; we use to had an ox merchant, and that merchant had a nice house in West Styne. Now that poor merchant left the village due to unseen circumstances, we got ourselves an empty house in West Styne.
We also have a nice blacksmith shop in the same locale; actually its next to the ox merchant house. Anyway, here comes the occassional " what the? " question; why is people shopping for beatiques, dresses, clothing, and other items that well...shouldn't belong to a blacksmith place (clothing covered in soot -misspelled probably- is not a good way to make an impression.).
Okay, now the point of this thread, I suggest that we can use the ox merchant's house for a store that sells Exotic items, like clothing, dresses, most other CEP items, and maybe even the oriental weaponry in this shop.

I would agree to At's idea, that maybe a clothier or general store could be put into the old ox merchants house instead of letting shard sell them.
Of course that house could also be used for maybe a small secret way under ws to a new area.....

Frankly Im all for leaving it alone - I like having empty houses around though - it gives you a place to have a private IC conversation with others in a local where you do not have PCs and NPCs strolling by. I do like the idea of Shard not dealing in some of the stuff he does - things that should go to a differnt merchant... Shard I believe was originally designed as a general store, West Styne has grown a bit since then. The othe rpoint to him was to not overcomplicate things for new players on IoF. Complications at the beginning = players not sticking around to see the good stuff. All this said, I expect Makz will not address this issue - it is completely a 'reality' based thing and doesnt relally effect anoyone in a negative fasion. ...but you never know

.......interesting idea...but methinks the boss has his own plans.....besides with a small level of craft armour skill you can make any dress you want

Well, would the inn be the best place to have a private IC discussion?

LoL with Saling Brin and all the other NPCs around that disrupt any quiet conversation? and the rooms....people might just walk in "to check"

I agree to the idea of the wasted space be put to used for something the players can enjoy. I would design it myself if I could. Though I would have to check on that.
BUT, as said in above post Makz is a very busy man with scripts and such trying to finish the island. Perhaps in due time when the lsland is done he can then go back and fill in the blanks and give the place a face lift. When he has more time.
Though, your idea was a good one.

First of all, let me say, I always read, and note things that players have to say, some is used, some is written off. I have said this before in the past, but I know some don't read back that far, and some forget. In this instance, Silentus pretty well summed it up. That empty house, will probably remain empty. Not everything is about providing something different for the player, somethings are about space, and oppurtunity, rather than here you go... see this . Oh, and sufficient to say that Shard covers for those who don't explore, and we have had plenty of them, they learn, and he doesn't cover everything, but he's a good start point Topic over. Makz.
