to make a wood elf

ok what do i put in the sub race box for a wood elf....
i have tried Wood Elf and Wood Elves

You should be ok with Wood Elves (exactly as shown) but maybe you need to pick elf first, then the sub race. Then you would actually look like an elf.

If you picked dwarf first, then Wood Elves you would look like a dwarf, but have the Wood Elves bonuses... at least that is the way I understand it.

To use a Main race based subrace you MUST, repeat, MUST, chose that main race and then enter the subrace name in the subrace field. Otherwise, you will only count as subrace, but no receive ANY boni (or bonusses however you want to spell it)

You will however also not have the ECL so it would just be as if you had given it a special name...

I tried that before using a test char (using Drow subrace for a Human) but it did not work, hence I dont think it would work in any other combination either except, Elf -> Drow

Thanks for pointing himin the right direction Parinor.

Would someone wh is very familiar with the sub-race system verify something for me... In the post that Parinor linked to, many of the subraces show a plural for the subrace (IE Shield Dwarves instead of Shield Dwarf). I assume that those all need to be in singular form to work, yes? Once verified, I will modify that Important info post.

As a secondary note, I know my limitations so when I use a subrace I go to the forums here and highlight copy and paste the name in the proper place. Helps me with obvious typing limitations

However they are shown in the subrace thread, is how they work. As noted, ALL subraces have certain limitations... ie : dwarves need dwarf, elves need elf, etc. I checked that this morning in the scripts as it uses string recognition.

i have 2 wood elves...both useing the elf base race one being the plural Wood Elves and one singular Wood Elf neather has received the str bonus the sub race guide says it should have....and yes they are capitalized
...that is i am assume that its going to be like the drow sub race and have the stat adjustments in the conrer

also that linked thread has this comment in it.....(ie For a Wood elf, Click Elf for race, then click Subrace and type Drow)
