D&D(?)/NWN rule:
All levels you take in which your TOTAL character level is higher than 20, you will receive the BAB of a wizard (regardless of what class you take levels in), or, +1 every two levels.
So if you were a 12 ranger/8 rogue and increased to 12/10 rogue/10 shadowdancer, then 2 rogue levels and 10 shadow dancer levels (12 levels total) will give you +6 AB because they were received after your total level was greater than 20.
ORDER COUNTS:
20 barbarian ---> 20 barb/20 rogue will have 30 BAB. 20 rogue --> 20 rogue/20 barb will have 25 BAB. Same level schema, different BAB.
This is not a bug. Apparently, its how the rules go.
Please do not report your base attack as "buggy" because you took a different level ordering than someone else.

Not only that but you can build your characters locally first and test these kind of things... Something people should consider before hitting -OK- after leveling.
