PVP How much is too Much?

OK I had a few thoughts on this matter and well thought id voice my opinion as so many have already about the respawn ruling etc. Me personally i think when you die.. and respawn there should be a place your pc goes.. and waits five minutes... ten minutes whatever until you are raised or until someone goes there to raise you.

Death would still not hurt you there wouldnt be any bother or pain but.. you wouldnt want to die over and over again because every time you do you get a time out. May make you think twice may not who knows just like i said a simple thought you appear in the void start your timer and when it runs out you come back.

Maybe an annoying song in the back ground for you or something would be fitting or a giant rat in a maze who knows either way it would stop instant respawn attack I mean it would only happen every ten minutes without the rule. Yes folks it would blow to sit for ten minutes it really would is there a way out of it well... you could die with allies around at least youd have company.

Ok second thing on pvp i believe there would be less pvp or troubles if two things occured . First the hunting at the southern swamp is the most pathetic excuse ever
and yes even i went there some but its not the only place i ever went and you kind find the same people if not their pcs there doing it over and over again people are killing each other over a spot to squat and arent even being reprimanded for doing what they were told not too and its the same people who are having trouble with a lot of people. I can tell you for a fact i had a pc walk through the say Hi hows it goin talked for a minute and the spaz behind me said talk off the bridge im trying to hunt acting like i was in the wrong because he wasnt harvesting xp.
Ok that off my chest now... My second point is this if we arent looking for pvp why are we promoting pvp on this server I understand as a dm you like to see people and their ideas flourish but openly aiding a pc vs other pcs is not a good idea reasons being one... if the antagonist needed your help hes in trouble when you dont help him. Two it tells the people in not so many words that go ahead and kill him or ambush them or whatever which trust me i dont mind pvp i enjoy fighting with other pcs.
Problem being I am not playing on an arena server so i like to rp too. Folks if your mad and cant take it do what i do log off take a break go play on an arena for a while hit a punching bag whatever. When you calm come back if you still think you were wronged then deal with it.
I sincerely believe the solution to this situation is very simple and please correct me if im wrong.( as im sure you all will) If there was a threat ... a beast from the shadows that sprung up with no reason or recourse appeared and vanished again... No not an uber beast but a very dangerous beast that could be killed but they were plane jumping beasts that would show up and attack or kill we would all stick near each other for the safety it provided . With it being dm controlled you wouldnt have to unleash it on a lvl 1 player in the mines
but it would be known we have a threat we need to unite and deal with.
Would we all keep fighting each other if there was something else to keep our eyes open for... less likely that and the dms get bored they have some toys to drop the abyssal ravagers appearing and disapppearing
hmm could be a tough thing to cope with and again a simple tool to keep things lively without promoting pvp.
I dont generally start a fight but am almost always willing to give one that is brought to my door am i against pvp definitely not. Am I against wreckless ludicrous pvp absolutely if your pc has something against any of my pcs by all means rp it out you want to ambush them whatever goodie lets play and when the smoke clears it will be over.
IMO there are many tools at the dms discretion they can use some kind of beast that has a high stealth can just be dropped and left to be hunted whenever people come into town screaming about it. ok I just wanted to say the island Makz is doing a great job with tons of new areas and things. If you sigh and turn you tv on to go squat on the southern bridge with you friends new first lvl pc just for xp to boost yours something is wrong.

I dont think its that big of a deal. Unless abused and i think that is the big question to define what is considered abused. And its still being discussed but folks. Add more waiting time on top of the justic system doesnt seen right either. Waiting doesnt seen like the answer either.
Folks training, really almost no one has the right to really say anything about that, everyone or almost everyone has done that. Thats there is Biowares fault .
That part should just be dropped because complaining about them is like complaining about your self.

i like the amount of PvP we have on the server. But the high level Pc's need to take it out of major cities. There is no need for blood baths in any city that is why there is forests and such take it to the desert or take it to the arena where it should be dealt with in the first place. I won't mention any names but my low level character has been killed sevral times in styne because of AoE spells trying to run past the brawl. I am sure i am not the only person that has happend to.

PvP is defined already in rules as to what it is you will do, there is an arena to use, and if it just a I'm bigger and badder than you thing, take it there.

Let me expand a little though so as not to make it appear I am dismissing anything Sniven said. He made some good points.

However let's look at the players camping situation... in character how do I react?

1. run to the DM's so they can deal with us like kindergarten kids?

2. Deal with them in Character?

3. Deal death to them.. because hey.. they are lame powergamers just leveling right?

Ok hands up all those that answered 3?? *GONG*...

Ok... even if you suspect the players are not RPing at all.. most likely given this situation... you should approach it a: in character b: OOC if necessary to remind them they do not own the area, and if you are not breaking the rule of taking their kills... etc... all is well. Walk away if able... otherwise.. kill them raise them, make them roll, if not RP walk away. And if they then come back for more... then we go the punishment route... I am going for black and white on this people because it is a game, and we cannot make it SO complex.
