I'm not sure if this has been discussed already on here as I'm pretty recent to the forums(I looked) But is the Ke'haar book a valid excuse to get out of jail? It's an item and can be taken by the knights so they could reallly say *takes your Ke'Haar book* but if they forget and your sentence was, say 10 minutes? I've always been vaguely confused by the book, if it was an RP item or more of an OOC quick-monement-saves-my-time item. I would have done a poll on this except I'm not sure how.

Jail, when it happens properly will not allow use of the book of Ke'haar and at the moment... I would trust in players being honor bound not to use one. They are a peculiarity of Fredian, some say they appeared shortly after Damien Swift did... who can say... Makz.

I look at it as a RP tool, a magic book that teleports you when you read it's pages.
Sooooo... If your jailed, it's shouldn't work because I'd assume it would be taken away. Personally using that item to get out of jail is poor RP. EVERYONE knows everyone has it, so it WOULD be removed from you, even if a player 'forgets' to type it. I'll just assume it is taken if I'm jailed.
Fast forward to NWN reality and it's no longer a dropable item, so no matter what your have to RP it out if someone does say *takes Ke'haar book from you, then locks you up*. That being said this needs to be mentioned to Nat, so you can't 'poof' out of his jail...

OK I'm not sure how to quote either so I'll do it the old copy/paste way lol.

I'm glad I mentioned it then ;D I dont think anybody sensible would use it, especially not all the model people we seem to have on Fredian, some people might come in and use it eventually and it's DEFINATELY poor RP
Once again though, one of my characters, Faith, is a rogue and happened at one point in time to have 4 Ke'haar books. . . I though you guys can all figure out why. So Faith is jailed, say Karl *takes KeHaar book* but Faith whips out one of her 3 left and poofs out (which I wouldnt do, but it's saying something) poor RP once again, but legitimate?

To quote you have to hit the quote button instead of the reply, it's at the top right of the post, not bottom left like reply. Interesting... you dirty little theif. Well I would tend to say that anything that someone didn't think of, when they were trying to think about it is their loss. So that scenario (whipping out another book) isn't all bad. Kinda like using timestop to bind someone. Definatly a 'gotcha' moment in life. There are 'gotcha' moments in life, and this might be on for the guards... This kinda puts into a question more than just the Ke'haar book, but about inventory in general while your in jail. Heck what about spells for that matter. Ex. I'm in jail (wizard) and I want out. The guard is there, the cell is locked. I could just blast the guard from inside the cell, or could I? What about components? What if I don't have the spell ready, can I sleep and memorize? What about those +10 picks, can you use them? What about that +10 to dex ring, Are you taking that off before you pick the lock? There are a few different views on all this. One being, you have been stripped of ALL EQ before you entered the cell, and its in a pile on the floor just outside your reach (for you to get when your done with your time). This point of view is reasonable, even if they didn't say *removes all your items* you are after in jail, not a hotel. So this to me is a little fluid, I wouldn't look down on any take on this too much. Which means its up to the RP, at that time...

Phoenix, that will all be beaten out in the CJ forum shortly. I would EXPECT that it will be handled as a RP only assumption that you have nothing on you and that spell casters would only know what they already had memorized when put in jail (as they would not have thier spellbooks to relearn). On that same thought, Clerics might be able to cast as they need only pray, although some need a focus item to do so...
Anyway, stay tuned on the CJ forum for inventory while in jail issues...
