I am now holding steady at 26 strenght, where it should read 18 (or 22 if it would've been possible to create half fiend/drow ). Resting seems to fix it, as well as removing my "Drow Darkvision" (ie: ultravision). So I don't rest unless I absolutely need to. Just tought I'd give a word on this bug... (most likely already known). It most likely happens if I get buffed, then the "buffer" or I logout then relog later... dunno

I was noticing that with my cleric today. I am not sure if it is a bug but my strength is topped out at 26 with items and i am unable to buff to a higher amount which as far as i know i should be able to using bull's strength
Let me know if any ideas on this

Mixilplik - By design in NWN you can only buff to +10 above your normal ability scores. This the cap youre hitting?

Sometimes the subrace bonuses are a little buggy, log off and come back on if resting doesn't do the job.
The other thing about the max bonus, it's +12 over natural, regardless of how you get to +12 (spells, items, scrolls, whatever). So if you have a max of 26, I'm guessing your have a natural of 14.

Silentus it is 12 not 10. & Quite right Pheonix. But I'd like to add that subraces bonuses are also included in that list. So if you are a half dragon or whatever and the subrace gives you +4 str for example.. then you could only get an added 8 from items/buffs/ect. This is becuase programing the subrace bonuses to change base stats.. is near imposible

Really, 12 huh.... I discoverd it way back prior to SoU and HtoU. I wonder if it changed with one of those releases or if I was off from the start. Oh well

Well, the subrace bonuses do count against the 12, but they probably made a code change for RDD because those bonuses don't count against the +12, they are added to the natural. Soooo, it's likely that if the subraces were updated they could be made to add to the base. It's likely when the subraces were made it wasn't an option, but it should be now. Of course I realize updating the subraces isn't going to happen, Makz. has stated that several times.

Bottom line on subraces as far as I'm concerned is that they are notworth it if you are just looking for the numbers they offer. They are supreme for RP purposes, but generally the numbers are not worth it.

hmmm depends on the subrace... Half-celestial will be a total beast with all it's free immunities (cold electrical acid and high SR) and really the XP penalty is negligable once you break through the first 10 levels.... your upsides make getting the extra XP needed easy...

HotU put the buff from +10 to +12, but with respects to sub-races, I have never tried one, can someone paste a link in this thread to the post or location of where to find that information out at.
