Ok here goes,I was elected viceroy of styne it has been a daunting task to say the least. How easy it is to go from one of the most liked to least liked in one day. (( btw i know i wasnt the most liked figure of speach))
I am trying really i am to figure out a way to go about the leadership of styne. It would help if more rped as if they understood how to treat a lord of the land.Even if he is just a Viceroy.
Sincerely i have spent a long time on this position and am gathering a vague idea of what people really want. could we attempt something other than civil war though i have held several meetings for people to air problems and thoughts.
Some of you i understand dont care for or want authority in Styne well i did not choose this post i accepted it and its responsibilities and will try to do it until Merrick says ohterwise.
So as Viceroy there has been some very good rp opportunities and some interesting interpretations but could we wait say a week before another uprising?
The knight of castille Chauve is a zealot and has caused as much or more trouble than he has helped was this planned my liege Merrick?
There will be more meetings and more opportunities to voice concerns and problems. The guards will fall into their roles and become more adept and the council is there to hear peoples concerns and help to bring them to me I cannot speak to all here and remember everyones concerns. I am sorry i really do try.
Hopefully i will meet with merrick and get some better notions from him and report the uprising we already had which thanks to aviar and vehdred was put down...of course myself and the guards were there as well. we just werent as effective.
I will think of more to say on this matter and have a system to announce meetings and at the meetings the rules are simple be quiet raise your hand you will take the podium state your case and i will try to answer and help with your concerns. till you are called listens and wait we will call on everyone unless we have to rush out to keep the peace....
Ok i will post more here im sure but the laws are a few dont kill people and dont rob anyone we appreiciate those of you who disarm in the presence of the viceroy and that very well could become law it must be passed by merrick first though.
Thanks Frost Farstrider Viceroy of Styne

If the Viceroy cared for peace and he cared for Fredian step down now and let someone with a sense of justice and stability rule Fredian. If the Viceroy would make a law enforce it send some to jail only to deny it's exsistense; then the Viceroy must step down. If the Viceroy wants to keep his power he must allow good people to serve him and not the self serving and low. If the Viceroy would have peace and proseperity then he must stop the lies that plague his rule. If the Viceroy would not have bloodshed and rebellion he must step down soon. If the Viceroy would give his ear to truth instead of lies then the Viceroy would reign with the consent of the people. Honor and respect is earned not given when it comes to the people who are not self-serving. Fredians.....I fought the Gnome menace while no one else would, was called a treacherous liar while my supposed friend hung his head in shame not defending my honor in front of the King....We made peace over that deed. Now because I would not leave my Dragosani a former retainer turned to maddness and bloodlust. I had convinced Brother Dragosani to give up his war with Farstrider and to accept exile and peace...he jailed me twice. But what I will not forgive him for is the injury of my sister under his regime. I even accept your bounty on my head as a pleasant way of saying hello... I hereby declare 3434 Whilem road in revolt of the Farstrider and all who would live free flock to it's roads and streets...(first house to the left of the blacksmith)
I and all My house challenge you and your legitimacy...

First of all the Viceroy does not rule Fredian he rules in place for Styne area only. Secondly he has held his new post on his own for 2 days, and if I see anyone giving him undue problems when he is settling into a very difficult role, I will liberally kick their collective butts. RP out all you want, but at least give time for a council to be settled on and a routine to ensue. Uprisings etc are fine, and you will of course get waxed by the Kings own men if you do so. That was the way of such times, brutal callous, but, it is also a GAME, and it goes against one of my most basic rules, comfort and fun of others, if you are going to upset a lot of players by doing something that stops fun, within the rules, that includes the Viceroy and his council and guards, then it has to be changed. I will be consulting with Frost VERY soon. Makz.

It's always difficult to instill order on a populace that has never known it. It is even more difficult when the new ruler comes from that very same populace. The new ruler wishes to maintain his friendships and popularity, but at the same time desires to do his duties to the very best of his abilities. It is a balancing act that even the most talented tightrope walker would balk at. That being said, one can but boggle at the increased level of difficulty of settling into such a position when your every decision is attacked from the very moment you place the crown on your head (figuratively speaking). I have seen both sides in this act like four year old children, from bull-headed stubborness to rash impulse decisions. It is my vote that we all take deep breaths, enhance our collective calm, take a moment of reflection to imagine that what's been happening to our "enemies" was happening to us instead (on both sides), and give it a week or so before we blow each others' heads off.

I'll (hopefully) be involved in some conferences soon regarding all things that are viceroy. If you have any analysis, rants, etc.., e-mail them to me at duckbreath@yahoo.com (this is not my main address but I'll check it for the purpose of this posting). I've seen how you all behave in a single room, so I will have to condense the mill of opinions and make an assessment that I will bring with me to DM/frost discussions. Sorry, but its the only way to have order Of course, you can always post what you want here for all to discuss over, and I will (try to) be reading. Understand though that my goals are consistent with Makzimia's, and I will be aiming for "large world" perspective on any analyises sent to me. (i.e., "Frost and friends killed me" wouldn't be good. "Frost killed me because I wouldn't roll the dice" would be better. "Does Frost have the right to enforce dice rolls?" would be best. Keep it as keen and pointed as you can.)

This matter other than one more party is resolved. And a new approach will be made by all spoken to today. Thank you for the time of all involved.
Makz.
