Makz, they look like they might help Aeradon stop destroying the flowers real fast, unfortunately the gloves don't actually modify the STR or AB at this time. I know you are real busy, but if it is easy, can you fix them please.

Done on CEP version today, STR -5 reduced damage -2 and something else -5, can't remember now Makz.

Oh, It's about time I download the CEP and take a look on the testserver!
Anyway. This makes anoushka a very happy merchant, when/if it will be updated on the main server as well.

The new version of the gloves are still not working for Anoushka. No -5 AB, -5 STR and -2 damage penalty.
I hope I will not make too many bowyers mad. It seems trees don't come back as fast as ore veins....

You should see how fast the flower farms disappear when Aeradon is picking (destroying) flowers to make dyes.
For now I am merely not using the glove since it still doesn't work as of yesterday.

Yeah, tell me about it! Vugor gets exactly 1 hit (2 flowers) the second hit destroys them. And thats withthe gloves on and all other STR stuff off Oh well, good RP oportunities to find some unskilled pickers.

Eek, I guess Nor'il won't be getting into tailoring like I though. I knew it was bad, but one hit!!!
Oh well, I guess I'm just going to do all my crafting with Phoenix or hire someone.

yeah crafting sucks when you build STR monsters... especially when you get to the point where you are working with rare components... long wait for some stuff to respawn...

Back when I was still sleeping days and playing over night when the number of players on is low I had my hack & slasher, Whispering Oak, I am building to go after Damien gather and craft dyes for 3 days. His build is based on DEX not STR.
In exchange for all the work Aeradon gave him 30 of the good bags, cloak, belt, boots and about 1.25 million in gold.
I don't feel this was metegaming; both characters gave the other something they crafted for something they needed.
Now if you think Aeradon overpaid Whispering Oak, Aeradon only harvested about 2 to 5 flowers per plant, which results in less than 2 bags of dyes if you harvest both farms. Whispering Oak did for Aeradon in three days what would have taken him about a month or more to do.
Aeradon probably would of been able to do it himself if the lesser black gloves functioned according to what is in the description.
(I just thought of something, does the protection from level/ability drain keep the gloves from working, guess I'll have to check that out tonight.)

LOL yes!! Take off any immunities for ability score drain...otherwise you wont receive the (in this case) bonuses that the gloves give you.

this is probably because i haven't been taking my immunities off :S ((thanks for the info Preedy)) but sometimes i've found i can boost my strength by putting the gloves on ((with my immunities also accidentally on)) then taking them off... Drahcir's natural strength is 16, but i've seen these gloves boost it to 28 sometimes. Any ideas why this happens? ((is that a stupid question? )).

Probably what we call a wrap around bug z:) happens when a stat reaches a certain point it reverses and or doubles... the weird things of code done badly, in this case biowares NWN engine, which has a lot of this stuff. Other explanation, subrace stats gone haywire

Well Drahcir's no subrace so i guess it must be NWN's engine then (good ol' Bioware) , thanks for clearing that up Makz.

On another server I had managed to get my character diseased and the twacked lame DM there (sorry, other servers just arn't as good) made it a really bad disease and it dropped my stats hardcore to like 4's or something. I rested trying to get rid of it, and I only took MORE ability damage. Lo and behold, all my abilities were 150 ("wrap around"). It actually has to do with this concept called an unsigned number that is 8 bits long (1 byte) 0 - 255 and when the sign bit has to change (going negative), the OS interprets that as 10000001, which is binary for 128, but because I went negative further still (-22 or so) it interpreted as 150. So I laughed and said to myself, "Since this server sucks anyway, lets have a good time" Needless to say I banged up a few people with my new super powers, until I found someone who couldn't take damage (was immune to all elements, all piercing/slashing/bludgeoning, etc..) using % damage immunity, and then I knew it was time to leave It was a fun first time while it lasted though. So the moral of the story: NWN does have stat bugs

Despite all of the flaws and bugs still in NWN, where else can players and DMs get together and play in this unique way. The only game I know that allows players to do significant building of worlds and encounters for players to enter and enjoy.
Someday in the future, the platinum edition of NWN with XP packs 1 through 25 will be released on a USB hard drive and the bugs will be in the fly spell when used underwater. And I am not just dreaming of the possibilities because I made a suggestion to bioware about a game like NWN back when TOSC was released for BG, it's because I am player hoping that things will continue to improve and grow, and if Bioware does ever get around to giving me credit for the suggestion I will be a little happier than I am now.
