yeah, we'll just keep score here or in another thread.... nice and simple that way... plus we could add some highlights from the battles for others to read, maybe it'll get some more ppl down there....
We'll also just keep the rules the same for now, but maybe we can allow inital buffs and weapons out this time.... just to see how it feels.... maybe.... we'll see what the concensus is at the time...
but let's move it to 6:30PM PST for the "start" times... we'll wait for a few minutes for straglers....

Just a suggestion if your considering buffs. Either allow all buffs that a character would 'walk' around in, IE long lasting spells, 1 hour or turn/level. That would include things like true seeing, stat increasing spells, but not shield spells like spell mantel, epic warding, acid sheath.
Or... allow a set number of buff spells prior to the start.
This would closer simulate random PvP encounters. You would never find me, for example, walking around with 0 spells on.
You may want to edit the start time on the first post.

yeah that sounds fine to me... I think that might make it a bit more interesting even... and yeah the idea of "simulating" random PC vs. PC encounters is a good one... *this is the only change from the first friday battle night* we'll be trying out this simple rule addition to the original rules aboveOnly your everyday buffs allowed initially (just like what phoenix said above.) dex buffs, epic mage armor, bulls strength, true sight, clarity... etc....will be allowed to be up... spell mantles, acid sheaths, epic warding, stone skins must be done during the match (this counts for potions, scrolls and wands as well for you non-spellcasters out there.. ) and just for clarity again: Captains will be chosen by roll of the dice or by battles between the indivuduals wanting to be the respective captains.... the captains will then pick thier teams (just like in junior high school....) and 6:30PM PST this time.... is that ok for eveyone?

I might swing by to provide some interesting games and for raises that may ''accidentally'' spill out of the arena heh heh.... I was thinking of one I used to have on an old MUD. It involves eight crystals, four red and four blue. They are strategically placed in each camp, four in one and four in the other. There is red camp and blue camp. If you get all eight crystals in your camp, your team wins. If the other team has some crystals, you can kill them for it As much as I would love to code the autodropping of said crystals, I am still in maintenance mode, but I can pick up the item off the dead person, hand it to the killer, and raise them 5 minutes later (or they could be raised earlier if it is by a teammate). And if our participants are honorable, they can just drop the item on being raised (preferred way but got to watch those cheaters). I don't know if I can be tentative about it though. I got a lot of bugs left to fix and I also must pace myself. Sometimes I can feel burnout creeping up on me and I reign back a little, which really helps because I feel a lot better the following week.

Sorry I couldn't make it, wasn't even on the server Friday... What about DM shouts to draw peeps? Was it done/could it be?
Will try this week, send me a tell if necessary. I'm usually up for events of any sorts.

Nat don't worry about it... if you make it . if not... we'll have fun.... we usually have so far... even last week was fun, but not as fun as the first week... don't burn yourself out man... and Phoenix, yes toon shouted it for us... it seemed most of the ppl there that night walked off saying "oh this doesn't look like the event for me" it seemed (to me at least) that it was not RP enough or something. (and someone just told me yesterday that (they thought) this was becoming a pvp heavy server.. lol)
