In character as the Kings Councillor, i recently proposed a restructure of the Knights..This was in response partly to recent Chaos in town (IC - Duty Part) and partly for Personal (IC - own agenda).
My Proposal was this:
1. A Commander in Chief position for Mackenzie
2. Kings Knights - All the Current Fully appointed Knights (with Lasso Arrest abilities)
3. Elite Guard - Formed from all current Squires to the Knights. (with Lasso Arrest abilities)
This would provide a sort of career path as well as a more structured promotional system. It would also allow for the squires to gain a bit of respect for their position as well as boost the numbers protecting the town which currently needs it.
I am not saying this would ever be put into place as the King is still considering it...All i ask is your input on it OOC.

I like the idea, although Head Knight or First Knight would sound better than Commander and Chief, that should be reserved for the King (and unfortunately Bush).
I also think the citizens should make a written request to the King if they think Head/First Knight should be someone other than Mackenzie. Use the notemaking tool and submit request to Cella in game if the system is approved by King Wend.
Aeradon Torren has been spending to much time running around exploring his new found youth and wholeness to know any of the knights or evil characters that well (if at all).

Number #3 on the list I dont necessarily agree with. I think the DM's put some thought into who they wanted with the Castille Armor, the Lasso, and the general authority and responsibility of that kind of position and I think it should remain up to them who has that kind of power. But I think the PC chosen squire is still a good thing, maybe there should be some other way for them to get some recognition. I also think that a squire, regardless of the Knight they are squire to, should generally fall under the order of the Knight on the scene/on duty. I know of one who does, and another who does their own thing and picks and chooses when they want to aid when something is going down. And although Mackenzie would be the logical choice to most for the Head Knight, I have not seen a IC need for it. All the Knights work well together when duty calls for it from what I have seen...

I agree with Raddog on this one.
I have to admit that the squires were really my fault, so i should carry the can with this one.
I was asked to allow a PC to be my squire IC for Karl. He accepted.
The position is PURELY RP and nothing more. I have told all the current squires this as well. They have NO authority, but it IS a good way to get recognised to MAYBE become a knight in the future.
As for squires following all knights authority. I agree and dont agree with that. I'm just not decided, period.
I do like the idea of a hierachy, but why change something that is working well already? The knights are all getting along well with each other IC, OOC the system is working well too.

I like the idea of allowing the squires to have a full title, I mean as it is we get no respect (squires) at least this way we would. And besides the knights would still have a tight reign on the elite guard. I would like to have a bit of authority. I know Celith does take an aweful beating in the game due to lack of respect. Just my opinion

Karl, If it was you that created this role of Squire then well done..It's an obvious role within the game if you have knights.
I guessed the current Knights would be kinda happy with the way it is......I proposed this because the West Styne Area desperately needs boosting with some other PC guards and also because the poor squires seem to be worthless entities as RP roles...and they would add a marvellous RP opportunity.
MAKZ...Whats your take on this? I know you have some pretty good views on these sort of structures.

*does happy dance*
I think the system is about as complex as it needs to get.
