So then West Styne it seems will stay No-PvP. And I accualy have no oposition to that.. I only oppose the central meeting location being No-Pvp. and if Castile is te new palce... then I am all for that. But honestly if I was "browsing" servers.. and in my first 20 minutes or so I saw a big brawl and was killed then raised I would *certianly* feel like sticking around longer then If I showed up and there was simply no PC's around. I know alot of other people might feel diferently ((Hanah style players... yes Hanah you have your own style)) but thats just me.. Not all of us are "Hanah style players", but there are those of us who think there should be more to roleplay than pking. Given a choice between a dm npc attack where some responsibility and consideration is shown or a player attack for reasons unknown or that old "I'm possessed/insane, tee hee" excuse that's gotten way past old, I'll go for the no pvp/dm npc deal any day.

Whine whine man OK team evil for the most part has been keeping out of West Styne due to new people on the server and constant whining about how the new people will quit if they start in a town where there is mean people(so not true) boho. Now people are going to start whineing about castille to and say they dont want fight s over there too. WTF

BS kline! that is the point you and "team evil" missed totally.. Castille is the main city of Fredian, you want to fight over there... go for it no one new logging in will see it. Makz.

I voted that I would rather see West Styne PvP. My observations has been that the levels of obnoxiousness has increased because the troublemakers know that they can't be hit and are free to run around and act disrespectful. Some of the PC's who like to do this have reflex saves that are far beyond the abilities of the lasso and a high STR modifier, so they have no fear of getting lasso'd to jail. My two cents.

*sighs*
I hate to say it, but it is true that there has been a fair amount of metagaming going on regarding the No PvP status of W. Styne.
Just because the Hellball can't kill anyone there anymore, doesn't mean it is appropriate to cast it for fun. Additionally, NPC attacks on the area are a little bit on the hypocritical side. That is proclaiming "Here there shall be no violence!" *cough cough mutter* unless we feel like it for the moment....
And though I haven't seen anyone blatantly flaunt it as far as the Knights go, I am really not surprised by that at all.

I gotta agree with Makz. Kline, the only big complaint coming out of the fights in W. Styne is new people getting turned off because what may be RPing, looks like PvPing unless you know what the RP is. You can't always get that in the 5 seconds you logged in and died (ok extream example, but it could happen). Heck I never even heard complains of lower level people getting whacked in the crossfire, just new people leaving because they didn't like what they saw. Some people are really turned off by PvP. They usually think of themselves as RP purist. which I find funny because conflict leading to death is so common in the backround time/setting.
Radog, I see your point, but if people want to act looney in W. Styne lauching harmless hellballs for fun, let them. Granted I think that metagaming noPvP like that isn't the best RP, so let the do what they want. Go protect the king and his court in Castille. Things in W. Styne will shake out in time, and I'm sure once the higher level people disappear from Styne things like this will matter less. I'd bet once people do start to populate Castille the noPvP will be turned off.
Mitza, not only that but when creatures are brought in the noPvP causes some of them to be friendly, and you can't attack them. At least I'm assuming that's what happened. While in W. Styne an group of dragons attacked. All the 'good' dragons were friendly, well sort of, at least my computer told me so. They however, didn't agree and stomped my drow into the ground with several other who couldn't do anything but look at the dragon with flowery eyes.
DMs, it's not like anyone's going to say " do these things less" but with the noPvP can you draw people into another area like Inner Styne or something?

All the dragons that were spawned in were not friendly. I changed all the dragons factions to hostile the moment they were dropped in.

I was killed twice (gold and bronze, I think) and they were both friendly, quickdraw. Oh, don't take that as a complaint either.

I think we can see that the move to make West Styne no-pvp was popular. I will close this thread now.
