YOu got a paperclip? Locate a small "pinhole" at the front of your drive. push a straightened paperclip (or a stick pin or the like) into that hole and your drive should open and you can get your disk...
if that doesn't work, you may be buying a new disk because your drive is wrexxed....

Well Taylor, maybe its time for a crash course in PC repair... This really is a simple ting to do, and on most modern systems you may not even need a screwdriver. If youre willing to try, hese a run down on what to do to replace the CD-Drive in an IBM based PC: 1. Open the case. 2. Remove any screws on the cd-rom drive 3. Unplug the ribbon cable (grey flat) and the power cable (4 wires attached to a whitish plug). 4. Check the jumper. There will be a litle plastic piece in the back of the drive between both plugs. Typically it will have letters wround indicating SL (slave), MS (master), CS (cable select). Make note of which it is set to. 5. Bash old cd-drive with a rock till it opens - no wait... Open the old cd drive by any means necasary. There will be screws and whatnot. It doesnt matter if you break it more, just dont bash it with a rock or you will break your CD inside. ------- 6. Buy a new CD-Rom drive. In the ads in the Sunday newspaper, most computer store chains (compusa, bestbuy, etc...) offer offer 52x CD-RW drives for $20 after rebate, or non-rewriter for free after rebates. 7. Place jumper on new drive the same positionit was on the old drive (these will usually look the sme, but the importatnt thing is that the setting is the same i.e - SL on old, make it SL on new) 8. Insert new drive and plug in cables. They typically only fit one way, so you cant really do this wrong. IF by some odd chance the ribbon cable can fit in both ways, put it in so that the side with red or blue markings is on the side closest to the power plug. 9. Screw it in, close the case and turn on your PC. Almost every system will detect the new drive with no complaint. Windows 98 or later should have no problem with this (might see an autodetection window go by, but no drivers will be needed). You are then ready to reinstall NWN. Short of the purchase, the process takes me about 5 minutes - even if it takes you2 hours, it beats waiting a month and going thru phone hell. Plus you will have moved on to a higher plane of PCdom Good luck!

Neverwinter Nights will not have uninstalled itself and is probably nestled in the Program files Directory waiting for your attention. You may have just lost your Shortcut to it....(ICON)
The file I sent you, Check the folder you put it in still exists. Right click on the NWMAIN.EXE file and Send to Desktop (Create Shortcut).
Message me again if you want any deeper help on this, As for the CD ROM, Let me have your address and I'll Get one sent over to you mate. I may have a spare one lying around in my IT grotto.

Hy,
I'm new here, but allow me to advice: you made the best choice.
1. Don't try to handle any hardware if you never seen it done before. 2. Allways backup your files before using any crack softwares, sometimes they won't allow a patch and you'll need to do file restoring, patch and re-crack. If you aren't experienced enough I would tell you not use cracks at all. 3. Before calling a technician reset your system, backup your files, format the hd, re-install softwares and restore the backup. This usually solves 70% of problems in a microsoft OS. If you're using a microsoft OS you should do this from time-to-time, depending on how much junk you use once every sixmonths or an year. 4. Google is your friend. 5. Read the manuals, I know, they are boring and have strange words, but read them, they are also your friends.
Well that's it, sorry if i intruded where I shouldn't, but I couldn't keep myself put.

Hey Taylor, if push comes to shove I'll make you up what I call (don't be offended) my idiot-proof pack out of my spare parts bin and ship it to you. *cringes but thinks she still has some prepaid international shipping labels from the office* HD, think I have a spare RW drive, and a disk of prophylactic measures for your computer's brave and daring forays into the public domain of the internet Plus at no additional charge, I'll include my pictorial guide to computer surgery (yes it includes a shot of me bashing a compy with a brick...remember Florida has no real rocks).
