Dungeon making contest. Ends May 1st 2004Ok folks, I alluded to it prior to the CEP update, here it is!! From today, I will be accepting entrants for a 5 level CEP used Dungeon set, the winner will have their dungeon placed in Castille, under the castle, and be given proper credit of course! Areas no bigger than 16 x 16. This will run until May 1st. When a winner will be announced, the entries should be in the form of a MOD and be sent to tcmax@castille.us send in ZIP format ONLY!! The following are the guidelines and requirements. 1. 5 levels of dungeon, you can use caverns, dungeon or ruins tilesets. 2. Make sure all line up over each other properly, in other words stairs going up and down make sense to the levels in question. 3. Use of secret doors and triggers etc would be good, and will add extra points to it, if you are going to do this, use the format at_script for action and sc_script for any start conditional's door should also use capitilized names on transitions ie: TO_THE_LEVEL1. All scripts will be checked anyway 4. NO USE of *ANY* scripts on creatures, and *NO* use of special drop items, all items and or placeables will be standard CEP or Bioware articles and or treasures <-- use normal placeable chests, not listed treasures, they then replenish with the on exit scripts I will place in at use time. Hey I like the idea! Just a few questions though.. When you say no custom scripts does that include no conversations? This is my idea and I hope that if it is legal in the contest, even if I don’t win the person that does at least does this... Well to have rats/animals give hints on probable locations of some hidden doors... Ya'know like in the official XP when the rats would give images to rangers... and I also wondered if having descriptive tracks was legal? Another question was what tileset to start in or does it matter... If you already have an Idea that this dungeon will start in a cave in one of the forests... well I would want to use cave/mineshaft for my entering tileset. Also are miniquests legal within the confines of the Dungeon or does that count as custom scripts? Well actually the first question will answer the last... Thanks

Ummm... below Castille castle story is ok, with conversation editor NOT plot manager, and NO scripts on it. You may want to learn more about Castille, Merrick Wend, and the Island before venturing too far down any route. Makz.

One more thing I forgot, make them go from mid teen seasons to 40 seasons as you go down in levels, for the encounters.

I have been working on the creatures to fight in my dungeon I have started and it is looking real good so far. Problem is I dont know if I will be finished by May1st but I will try.

There is no way i will be done by May 1st so I will just turn mine in when it is done and if you want to use it you can and if you want to chunk it you can. Oh well i really tried but there still is so much to do. Well i still have a little time left I will keep workin on it.

Finished, recieved NO entries, know of only 3 people that even started on it, and one completion. Haven't seen the completed one yet, Mitz is having trouble getting it to me.

Hmm, I wonder if people are trying to get it 'perfect' before sending it in? It can be updated like every other area at a later time... Just a though for those out there making this.

your having trouble getting it to makz mitz? I'll get on TS here in a bit (OMG! I know ) and (if u are there) set you up a spot to ftp it up to the r1de.net server then I can put it somewhere and we can send makz a link to it.... would that help ya?

arg sorry man still workin on it. I need to fix some of my creatures (some like standing around and looking at the wall) And I have 1 more level to make and I will turn mine in use it if you want toos it if you want no problem with me. This map is not full of traps nor is it full of Locked doors what is does have is some creatures that will blow you away and give allot of folks a new place to train and fight. There are some speacal monsters that have created some taking me a great deal of time and thought. Well I hope you enjoy. Phoenix no not tryin to make it perfect that is what Makz is for just trying to make it fun.

Well since you didn't get your dungeon yet, can we still make something and send it in? I didn't see this post until after may so I couldn't do it, but maybe the others didn't have time to finish a 5 level dungeon.. I guess it depends how much detail you want.
