Makz, here is something to look, when I use the stairs from dungeon level 2 to level 3 in Styne Castle NWN crashes. I asked around and the other four players that were there also had this bug.
From what I remember this began after the layout of the 3rd level was modified, so I think it’s a possible conflict loading the CEP placeables. If you need me to test it just let me know, I’m not sure what time I’ll able to log today, but I think around 22:30 to 23:00 (GMT-3 São Paulo - Brazil).

I am among those that crash in that transistion. Try updating your video drivers. It is by no means a universal issue which makes it likely to be a driver issue.

I also had trouble last night. My video drivers are the latest and greatest nvidia has to offer. So i doubt the problem is there. Also the other people I met there, both, had the same problem. Actually I went down the steps 3 times, once on purpose, twice after a trip to the temlple, and crashed only 1 of the times. I doubt that helps and only complicates things.

The problem is most definitely client end related, Mala and I while I had her helping me out with the testing of all the new stuff this morning had me go in and out and in and out about 6 or 7 times... no problem. And I know from watching dozens of players since the change was made, that it is isolated to specific clients, newest drivers for video does not always mean the best, and personally, I have an ATI 9500 pro with 4.4 Catylst drivers, and it works perfectly, but I also have ALL intel, motherboard, CPU... sound blaster etc etc.. lot's of good quality ram... I could go on.... sorry gang, but you are on your own on that.

Anyone with this problem may wish to post what video card they are using as most client side crashes tend to be video related. Might find a trend...

I have to say in a sick sort of way, I find this amusing, because, not long ago, our ATI's totally sucked in NWN, seems something has changed in the Nvidia latest drivers to nerf them in some way.

Well, my nVidia GeForce 4 Ti 4200 4x/8x has finally decided it didn't like Fredian Styne Castle dungeon level.
After trying numerous modifications to both NWN settings and the video card settings I have determined that Whispering Oak has been captured until further notice (only two seasons away form going after Damien Swift to be sidelined by technical deficulties, ouch).
Things that make you go "Hmmmm", I noticed a few areas I could improve upon in the developement of Whispering Oak.
After I play around with character developement in single player mode to decide what to do, I will be back in with a new character.

Are you stuck crashing in the dungeon? You can be moved in the database if your character is trapped and cannot make it through the area load without crashing at all...

I wish to thank whichever IoF GOD moved Whispering Oak out of Styne Castle Dungeon Level 3.
On an off topic, I am on a lot less often now that I am taking college classes. My mind is dull and needs sharpening, I doubt if I got in 10 hours last week. And I don't recall ever getting a headache while playing on IoF or going through the boards here.
On a positive note, I did get news about all my grandchildren this past week.

I have troubles as well and I am using a MSI GeForce 4 4200 64MB card 4X AGP. I do plan on upgrading my card some time soon, however, since the card is a bottleneck in my PC.

I have an ATI 9800 and it loaded for me, Kline can get in there with another ATI card, so it definatly looks nVidia related. Has anyone loaded older versions of the drivers?

I believe it is because I use an nVidia card as well and this has happened to me once.
