By order of High King Merrick Wend, Gennita silk was found guilty of the murder of Cella Harnech and sentenced to 60 minutes in jail. Aviar Maximus Our beloved High King Merrick Wend orders Gennita Silk to be found guilty. That just makes honest citizens like Anoushka a little uncomfortable. A lot of good citizens have helped creating a general consensus on criminal justice, and some are disappointed the High Kings orders supersede this. Maybe things have changed since I last read the Final version of the Criminal Justice System, but I do remember there was no 60 min penalty for *any* crime. It seems a little harsh to me for a first (posted) offence.

Cella was High Counsellor to the King, and as I understand it, that is a permanent death for the character, though that is based off of rumors. I am also fairly certain that the situation was both discussed in advance and consensual with all players involved.
Also, you may have noticed this, but King Wend tends to be moody, fickle, reclusive, egotistical, and overall does not really strike one as being a fair, just or altogether upstanding guy.

For the record, Cella is officially PermaDead....As for Gennita, She is fully aware of everything to do with this and more than happy with the outcome of it all.

Yes, The Sende'len line is aware of this. ~ has become even more suspicious of the royal intentions of the king.
*Anoushka whispers: One can only dream*
Anoushka wishes to offer her condolences to the family and friends of Cella.

FYI Zhoreb, There was a "trial" of sorts held in the Inner Styne Castle where King Wend heard all involved parties before making his ruling......

Yes, Gennita was aware of the implications.
She just expected a little more support from the legal system and an appreciation of the implications of a crime of passion, effectively sanctioned and blessed by the King's Knight, Mackenzie, who effectively stood to gain the most out of the act.
The Law was undermined, and what more is the Law than a formalisation of the King's will and judgement. By flouting the Law, the Knight, by implication flouted the Will of the King, this, again by implication, could be construed as Treason.
The Law is a delicate thing and needs respect.
Ironically, the whole thing came out after a Knight was unable to maintain discretion due to guilt, or was it a deliberate exposure of an innocent woman?

Ahh...the dilema! No justice is ever perfect...but hey, the RP during the trial (I was watching) was good stuff! I thought Cartoonic, Raddog, Siegfred (Gennita) and Lanah all contributed brilliantly, and even Mack too when he showed up.
Good stuff!!

My only fault to the whole deal was Mackenzie's more or less instant reinstatement to the Knighthood.
IMHO, bad show! He should have gone through a long story of trial and provinghimslef to be allowed to regainhis position.
*shrugs*
Like I said, it just fuels the Rebellion more every time the priveleged get away with heinous acts while the common folk get their hard earned money beaten out of them with no recourse.
*plays Amazing Grace by the Dropkick Murphys in memoriam of Cella then follows it up with Boys on the Docks*

Hmm...I think maybe that you are right Mitza...but the problem with that is that to be a Knight, the choice is also half OOC as well. I dont think JoScMa really deserved to lose his Knighthood, as OOCwise his record speaks for itself. ICwise though, Mack really pushed his luck IMO, and he *was* lucky to get re-instated so soon.
As I said though...it was good stuff!
