I think that the most Fredians ever located in one place at given moment -- unless someone has a higher figure -- has just ocurred yesterday in Camarillo, California where Mysaides Mein, r1de/Ventrick/Erith, myself, Lumix, and Norah Halin may have potentially set a record for five Fredians in a single location. It occurred at a Mexican restraunt with a name that I cannot pronounce, but the food was good.
I was surprised at the talent in the room, and from everyone. We had a real cool time, and towards the end of the night we knew we had to leave because life goes on the next day, usually starting early in the morning with a thing called a job or an appointment or hitting the road. So we left, like responsible folks do, but deep down I think
<mushy moment>
there was a desire to hang out longer, and if responsibility and fatigue didn't exist, we probably would of gone all night.
</mushy moment>
It was really great to meet you guys, and as the Robert Frost poem goes: I could leave the trodden path for another day, but as way goes on to way, I doubt I will ever come back again. But I took the road less trodden, and that had made all the difference.
And one difference was it I had a hard time to wake up this morning.
But you guys were worth it. Rather excited after the meeting, I got this new idea. I'll take my map on the wall (you guys know I have a map of the world on the wall, right? Its standard for us board-game take-over-the-world types) and add pins to each location where a Fredian is located. After I get 10-20 pins I can take a picture of it and post it! Then when Fredian Gathering 2005 comes, it can be so much more cool. But by then, maybe we'll teleconference in. Who can say?
Todo list: make road trip to see Makz
again?
