Just a little reminder to Anoushka… Do not let she forget about the “si ne qua non”* condition: trying to sell the items only for people that will use it for goodness. *Si ne qua non from latin, it means “without it no way”Uhm, yeah. About that clause. I'm trying, I really am. But " Pecunia non olet", and I cannot control future deeds of customers. Nor can I sense goodness or evilness inside a person. What I do know is, every customer who fattens my purse is good in my book. Anoushka

I'm not saying I agree with powerlevelling, I'm just saying it's none of my business how other ppl play their characters. I've been on this server 8 months and I have yet to reach 40th on any of my characters (most are early 20s and 35 is the highest) I spend most of my time crafting, exploring, and just socializing and usually don't really care too much about levelling. But, since it is a rule, after I was warned I did not party with my friend again until he was closer in level. Just because I don't agree with a rule doesn't mean I think anyone should break it. It's Makz' server and what he says goes.

To answer Weirdness, farming out monsters (respawning the same set repeatedly) is covered in the rules, however if youdon't mind a DM occasionally mixing it up with you a little, you won't find any of us going down your throat about it. Exceptions to the above, the first rule of courtesy applies. If someone else comes along and wants to train for a bit in the same area, work out a nice compromise with them. Farming monsters with unique drop treasure will get you into trouble as well...however, I don't really expect to see anyone trying to farm Nat's Baby, so you are likely in the clear there as well. The game is about having fun and getting together to enjoy a magnificent persistent world that we all inhabit.

I skipped over several posts so I could address the persons real frustration, being allowed to play with his friend.
Whispering Oak at 36 seasons met a fairly new character (3 seasons) they walked around part of the island talking about good places to hunt, areas that are evil in nature and what a beautiful coast the Southern Coast Tip is, yadda, yadda, yadda... We had fun, and if it wasn't for college interferring I am sure I would be able to spend more time with that character and work on my RP skills.
One easy way to help someone without "powerleveling" is to be invisible, help them stay buffed up and healthy while fighting; but even better, teach them, by guided tour, the Island of Fredian. The latter selection is very much IC if you RP it, and if you spawn something way to high for the other person to kill then kill it so it does kill them. 1 more important thing for both of these ideas, don't be join in a party, you want the other full credit for the kills they can make on their own, and if you have to help them by killing extra creatures and stronger creatures you don't want to be presumed to be powerleveling.
In fact I don't use party mode while RPing, I only use party mode while training.
A good DM will watch suspecious activity for a while to see if it is within powerleveling.
"As for all the posts I skipped in this thread, sorry everyone, but time to get reay for class."

there is no rule about farming hostiles... it's farming NORMAL NPCs (friendlies) that is not kosher.... This is why so many appear as easy but are really insanely tough/invincible....

Yessss...hunt Derto...do it! You know you want to!
Karl may have added to mischief you started, but there is at least one other DM out there that thinks Derto is the best NPC in the game, and there are probably several PC's still around that owe him a debt of gratitude for chasing a warped wizard out of town (does that still sting Nat?).
*grins wickedly*
Give in to temptation...Aviar needs jail fodder!

I think the reason Derto is a little off balanced is because ghe had to deal with way to many attacks on West Styne alone (probably at addicted or cartoonic's hands), look what they did to the people on Ferrus.
I think he is a war veteran, and just because he forgets that you just gave him a hand out 10 times in a row doesn't mean you should get angry with him.
