Ok, here is how it works.
As most of you know, The Isle of Fredian can be loosely equated with an outlink to the bermuda triangle except for the Forgotten Realms. People go in, but they can't get out, it seems. As such, Forgotten Realms cultures and deities exist as new people fall into the island from time to time, bringing their lives and beliefs with them.
What is Forgotten Realms ("FR")? FR is basically your typical (A)D&D world where a good number of campaign settings take place, such as Baldur's Gate, Amn, Neverwinter, the Underdark, and Anaroch to mention a few. It basically has gods like Bhaal, Tyr, Mystra, Selene, Lolth, Mask, Loviatar, Cyric, and so on and so on. These are all acceptable deities to RP in the world of Fredian.
However, some local gods exist too. They were mainly made up by the Fredians over the ages. This kind of thing happens when you get cut off from the main continent via a magical interplanar rift The Fredian deities do not possess powers outside the Island, as that is where their only worshippers who feed them tend to exist. Some Fredian deities highly resemble FR gods and goddesses. Some believe maybe Magog and Bhaal are the same thing using two different names. Its hard to say whether this is so or not... after all, Bhaal has been dead for quite awhile Or maybe Fredian is where Jergal finally retired too? *chuckle*
Anyway, in my following post I will present a list of the "local" Fredian deities. For your FR gods, you should search on-line or buy one of the D&D books. Good google search pattern may be "Forgotten Realms" + deities
