I find it a disgrace and an out rage that in this day and age that a left handed character is impossible to create! Of course you can quite easily role play such an attribute, but visibly it can't be shown.
Okay, okay. Minor point, I know, but I just fancied a quick moan. I don't really care either way, but being left handed myself I don't see why Charlie (Being my Character, just in case you couldn't figure that yourselves) can't be. Oh well.
Any other left handed folk around here? Perhaps we could demand fair treatment? Maybe...?

*raises left hand* hopefully bioware will think of such a small detail in their next "release"

That is actually a very good idea. I mean we can change our race, our heads, tattoos, and armor wear. Haks have made changing cloaks possible but I think it will be native in Dragon Age. But seriously, preference of handedness when you wield a weapon (with shield), which foot goes forward first when you begiin to walk, all kinds of things. Maybe even chant styles for various wizards. Casting the same spell with the same voices and motions, but each with a different flow -- kind of like a body language version of a voice set using an accent. Pixar once said that little things make big movies bigger. You can see incredible attention to detail in totally meaningless scenes and on the sides. I don't think this kind of thing would "make or break" the game, but it will put them over the edge of the competition, which is starting to sober up. WoW (world of warcraft) has literally copied Neverwinter's engine. They have a quickbar panel and a little side thing. They have a 3D pannable viewer. Does that sound familiar? Yet they screwed up in a lot of places, but by the time DA comes out I think the competition will be fierce. Maybe left handed chars will make all the difference for the Bio boys

You know, I originally had wondered about this shortly after I started playing the original campaign. I didn't see any options for it (even one to just mirror the character), so I just assumed that if I set up my computer for the mouse to be over on the left, it would then figure out I'm left handed. I never tried it, though, because I wasn't that concerned, really. It's a great idea, though.

Yeah, I've thought on that before too, I can even see taking it one farther giveing lefters a +1 to hit to represent a lack of training vs southpaws and a -1 ac as a balacing point. I dont think they should get an unfair advantage - I mean after all, lefties have a higher accident rate particularly during warefare (per Cecil Adams of 'The Straight Dope' - who we all know is a god {and also a lefty}) so the -1 AC seems reasonable.
Anyway, its all moot as we cant control the game engine - maybe in Age of Dragons...

darn! You got a strong grip mister! *Rubs left hand* That was my best hand too! Didn't realise that was such a good idea. I can't remember ever seeing a left handed option in a game such as NWN, but then I can't remember much. Anyway, glad to see so many people interested enough to respond... darn you guys must be bored! Anyway, it'll be a pleasure bumping into lefties in Fredian, even if I wont be able to tell that they're left handed. Oh well!

Lefties were seen as the agents of Satan in the olden times Wouldn't be fun to get burned at the stake now would it? ;D
