This conversation came in part as a result of hostile actions in west styne by Johnny C against Havey in the form of attempted dispels and persistent aggrevation (I witnessed). It is clear evidence of need for expanded dm support and coverage as can be provided at the earlier hours of the moring (6AM EST roughly). There are frequently players on at this hour, some of them long term and trustworthy members. I suggest a review of possible policing options. Even an hour after the issue was pretty much over, these guys kept trying to talk to Havey about it and wouldn't let it drop and sadly I was sitting by the fire to have to hear all of it.

Let me clarify on Makz's statement a bit. The reason he states that more knights will not help is that this is an OOC situation. The Knighthood is strictly an IC position. Granted, players who play the knights are generallly a bit more trusted than the average users as they have already been approved by Makz for the knight position (and many are DMs), but there many other long term players whos word holds alot of weight here as well.

What would truely be needed for this situation is an increase in DM staff. This is a much more complicated affair as the amount of trust needed for that situation is much higher. The last thing we want is powermonger types in DM roles. Makz has been cautious in his addition to the DM staff, and has added quite a few over the last 2 months. Getty has been made a regular fixture to that staff... give things some time and there will likely be more - but there is a point to only making so many changes at a time.

3 things of note:
1. Makz will likely try to balance the DMs he enlists to the timeframes needed for coverage. This is a constant battle as it is a game, and RL gets in everyones way on a regular basis.

2. If you see inappropriate behavior and there are no DMs around take some screenshots (Print Screen) so you have evidence to send to DM staff. I believe the DM staff WANTS to know about bad behavior. We dont want a bunch of greifers running around - best to cut them off early before scaring away the newbies.

3. When speaking out loud (ie not in Tell or Party) be responsible. We dont want to scare off newbies with your personal beliefs. Realize that those beliefs are your own and give others a chance to form thier own before discussing them (this in responce to 'running people off the server' comments from the snapshot above)

The point being, it's all old news been there done that before. I know it will settle again, and will give it a chance to. If we are wrong, I will simply stomp on more heads as needed.
