ok things like this are going on, that shouldnt , 1. gilliard knew that anom was pale master , when he had never seen anomaly with out clothes. ( i did make sure no one knew) i have not been bothered by it cause it only makes the PC deeper in rp , alas players should stop mixing what they see out side of rp , with rp. i know, i'm not trying to say this place is all hardcore rp , but whats next someone comes up to me and speaks , well anomaly you know thou hast only 567 points on the life? this is not to knock mys , he is a great player , but we take away when things like this happen , everybody mess's up and its ok , but i would think that this would be a important basis for rp . all i'm asking is to please keep all OOC data , to at least seeing or hearing in RP.
Thanx Anom ;D

Knowing things like classes, especially ones where your partially dead, or even race, is something I wouldn't consider completely ooc.
A higher level mage or priest would easily detect your a PM. High intelligence and wisdom do a LOT for this...
A RDD, would smell you.
A celestial would likely detect a fiend and vice versus.
Any race should be able to tell the difference between their respective subraces due to dialect and mannerisms.
edit: oh, and there is also town talk, where someone discusses immunity to critical hits. I have seen this same discussion about another PM, why not one about you?

*coughs* And any decent tailor should be able to see that your armor is hanging a bit oddly on that left arm.... like there's not enough padding inside or something....

Not to mention the smell... Other PMs would know too... But i think by this point Anom, its come up at least three times in RP that i've seen. I think its a well known RP fact by now... (weather that should or shouldn't be) instead of makeing everyone pick up and reverse to when they didnt know i think you are just gonna have to roll with these punches.

I know that Vugor found out (though he hasnt approched Anom on it yet) by overhearing an IC conversation when he was crafting - the word has spread... whether it was appropriate IC in the beginning I cannot say. MANY players understand what they should and should not know IC, but frequently people new to RP dont quite get it. I had one guy that RPed ok, but would refer to comon things we did that never happened... he tried filling in the blanks to make more history than we had (stopped that one short - especiallly when he refered to him drinking with Vugor). This scenario can't be helped, they have to learn somehow. Play and teach Metagamers... well they should know better but just don't care. If this issue is of that ilk, there is little that can be done to avoid it as it isnt a huge offence nor very direct.

Vugor: YEp Metagaming is well It down right stinks but is a fact of poor play or learning the fine art of RP. Gonna get some of that around here with the world properly built for both HAck n slash and RP people.
Anom: you seem to have the PM in your char. Is it a flaw that you try to hide IC. Is it part of his make up. Or was it for the immune to crit and just a build thing.
If it was for RP reasons then you had to see this coming, have fun with it. Many a great hero has been saddled with a worrisome past or make up. DR jekyl and Mister Hyde not perfect fit but a great story of duality. He chose to take the formula and become the hyde. So you chose to take the arm thing.
If it was a build thing then stop complaining about meta gaming you hipocrit. That wasn't as nice as I could have been sorry.

Well, I was being nice, but Serpitus kinda expresses my feelings on this. There are several RP flaws in that character, I noticed your immunities to certian spells makes you a certian subrace that doesn't quite fit with that PM class either... I've done things for build reasons with my characters, the biggest RP stech is being drow and RDD, and I expect to take some RP crap for this (half breed drow comments). I have also taked 1 level of a class for it's benefits. If your going to RP, you live and die by it. You built it, play it, deal with the fallout. DON'T get on people for noticing your half dead, so you can be immune to crits, and pretend you can 'cover it up' so no one notices..

the basis is that your coming from a start his start is that hes always been anomaly ...and that this is a class he took up later in life being forced to , and if we go there then please tell em how the red wizard get killed my the nights and is tell runing around , i thought "pub-ex" ment death the that pc forever , but the next day say hello to the red wizard , i'm not being mean but how does that fit , many things dont fit here , but it depends on where and what rules of rp you are following lets see d&d i can find things about nwn alone that dont work with d&d , if there can be good drow ...then by all means a lawful god celestial cleric can take up pm , its not new newz by any means.

Phoenix was beheaded, you will not see that PC login except for crafting, and you HAVE NOT seen him.
Even though I already have 2 primary skills MASTERED, I am relearning all crafting with The Red Wizard.
The exact way the beheading went down wasn't as I intended (final crime was actually committed by The Red Wizard, and Pheonix was beheaded, all previous crimes were with Phoenix), but that was a miscommunication with the DM that worked it. Nothing could be done about the actions others saw, I'm sure that caused some confusion.
They are two different characters, one was just a body w/o a soul until Phoenix was beheaded. I also didn't RP any knowledge of Phoenix with TRW until he died, now TRW knows everything Phoenix did+TRWs experiences.
Naphtali crafted a deal with a demon for a body, the knights provided the soul when they killed Phoenix. I will be updating his story soon with this info.
There really isn't anything fishy about that RP, you just didn't bother to A: ask, or B: research.
The only fishy stuff with The Red Wizard is my level build (38W,1F,1R).
Celestial... Pale Master... OK, whatever, that was all taken for their respective abilities. The only person that your fooling is yourself.
Celestials are good subrace just doesn't have the restriction (couldn't be added?). PM requires evil, but your LG?
Again, I have no problem with your build, just don't take the high road, and don't throw rocks in a glass house.

Speaking of Bad Rp...If he was beheaded, why is he logging in at all .... Headless Craftsman ?? I have not logged with him yet, but if needed (I know other crafters and will use them) I will. You can shame me for that, but not until I do it. He is essentially a non-RPing character.

All that being said, this isn't a hardcore RP server. ;D
No on is saying 'hey stop playing that char. for x,y,z reasons.' Just that in RP, your PM class would be noticed by some, for various reasons.

*sighs*
Phoenix's rebirth was not generally understood...the execution was for RP, but execution is an advanced stage of punishment...keep that in mind and in the future kill people for this reasonin some other way. Anomaly has a long running story about the choice to take the PM route. PM requires non-good, not evil. And don't get me started on subrace-alignment issues. There are no rules, so drop it. It should never have been known ICly by more than a few, but thanks to the class view on log in, it is. Take a better and less ocntroversial example...using someone's name just because you as a player can see it floating over their heads...
****
End of specific character examples here and now. This is about general metagaming and things to be done to prevent it.
The first best thing is to quietly and POLITELY remind people that through tells or brief OOC statements when they slip up.
The second is to NOT discuss aspects of your characters OOCly with just anyone. If a DM asks what the aim of your build/character/alignment/etc is, please answer us honestly so that we can add you into plots and stories appropriately, but just because someone asks you hey aren't you a Fiendish paladin? how does that work? Don't explain anything to them that you don't want to be IC information.
Finally, keep this a productive discussion, or have it locked. We do not need flame wars over individual builds, races, or alignments. Trust your DM's to be keeping an eye on things, and remember that there are NO RP police on this server.

Please note, Phoenix met these advanced punishment requirements. With the lack of Knights, there just wasn't an official log of crimes.
Also, as Kline noted, beheading isn't necessarly the end of a character for a lot of good reasons. Mostly, if played properly, a villian should meet these requirements over time (its only natural to assume they will get caught, and the crimes stack). Why punish good villians by forcing them to stop playing that character? Simple answer, you don't.
Permadeath is the players decision ONLY, which I made.
