I just want some opinions
Is the fletching craft worth pursueing?
I am at about 130 or so. The +1 and higher arrows seem to be a pain in the butt. I have to go buy 3 gems for each 20 or so arrows I make. Granted I can get to Willem pretty easily, but I can't buy +1 arrows for 200gp?
Is there any reason to continue this path or am I wasting time that could be better spent elsewhere?

Well, I view bowery/fletching pretty low on the list, but I know that's a mistake...
I don't really use characters with bows, so I don't really need the crafted goods. I also haven't seen many people use a bow at higher levels, that tells me the crafted items aren't up to snuff (compare to melee items) or people are just missing out. Either way, since I don't use them, and few people use them, there just isn't a market so I don't even craft it (yet, going to be the last craft I work on).
But wait, I said I knew that was a mistake... See Makz tries real hard to balance things, and when he ran into a wall creating new items (which just got corrected) he was fixing arrows. Well, now I believe those arrows are IG (or will be soon), and I see he's in new item mode for crafting... So when a bad-ass bow comes out, well guess what, it's probably going to take 900 in bowery to make it. If I'm at 0, it's going to take me a while to be able to whip that out. If I have already invested time in it, it's worth it.
It's like that orb of the planes, I don't know what the required jewel crafting # is to craft that item, and I didn't care. I already have 1000 in that skill, so I know I could craft it.

I was really only wondering about the fletching right now. The bows seem to be worth it, in fact I was telling one friend it might be worth it to specialize in long bow since the bows I can make now, with a skill of about 350, are very good.
Its was just the arrows. I can make ones that get +5 to damage but wanted to know if the experts think I am wasting time and energy.
Thanks for the input

I'm not an expert but I do have an opinion.
From a Char. stand point. Archery is the least effective to monster slay and in PvP well it is realy just a distraction compared to other ways. Arrows do very little damage (though I know a ranger that really whups it on with his bow) and there are certain crafted items that make them almost unusable. The added damage is nice but well most high end melee weapons are equivalent or better IMHO not to mention the buff spells for melle but not arrows.
As for bows and what is the top end... You really need to talk to a Weapon crafter for that specific need. Not sure why but the best bow is in there, at least it was last I checked and it is ILR 40.
OK now from a master crafting standpoint for your char. Well Bowyering really doesnt take much time (unless the new changes did something) compared to other skills so you might as well finish out your trade journal book if you are going that way.

Wow Klieset, you should join forces with Lumix. I have heard fletching to be a rather unrewarding craft. Expensive to learn, and little to nothing back The good news is, the bugs that held down fletching were fixed (to the best of my knowledge). This means more items can be (and probably will be) added to the fletching arsenal in the near to distant future...

Crafting is the distraction for when you get bored with fighting, fighting is the distraction for when you get bored with RP and RP is the distraction for when you get bored with Crafting-
So who cares the cost?
Answer is it worth it? Well- Not everyone can adventure- and not everyone can craft. Not everyone can RP But isnt it great to know that if you get bored with anything you have something else you can do.
So Yes- I have been on Strict RP servers- BORING I have been on hack and slash servers- BORING
Fredian has it all and you dont have to Rush to do it. Take your time- Do a little crafting here, a little fighting there, a little RPing on this side, a little questing on that side- What will you do when you're lv 40 and maxed in all crafting? Do it again?
Kedra uses her bow alot- So she makes her equipment. IF you're looking for monetary value- pick weapon crafting- if you're looking to support a character RP- stick with it. If you are cheap and wanting a soloution to ease the wallet- buy your arrows.
Figan doesnt use a bow much- almost never so he just keeps what he finds- he doesnt use the bow enuf to buy em.
Up to the character really- let them descide if its worth it

Well, if you manage to get your fletching skill high enough, you will be able to make arrows that do +6 piercing damage and +6 elemental damage (depending on type of arrow). Although that +6 elemental damage is iffy when it comes to being worth it since I see many creatures and players who don't take damage from just 6 pts of elemental damage. But pursuing the craft is up to you
