I run an ATI 9800SE Graphics card, and i do now have issues with the game running, when a few other PC's/NPC's are on the screen, or when i appear in an area with lots of them there with mage buffs on.
This problem occured whilst i was running the older drivers for the card, i update, and what happens then? It gets worse......and the drain on my CPU goes off the chart!
Ive tested this with another computer i have, running a slower processor (1.1 Ghz AMD, compared to a 2.8Ghz P4) , less RAM (256MB DDR266 compared to 1Ghz DDR400) and a smaller graphics card (G-force 2 64MB compared to my 128MB ATI 9800SE)
The results were alarming....this supposedly slower machine was running the game better...and after clearing memory/de-fragging/log-checking, the results were still the same.
So...it seems that ATI cards have an issue with NWN...not old news i hear you cry...but just to let you all know...if your running an ATI card, and your getting what you think is lagg...it could be your Graphics card 'sticking' on the Frame update.....
The ATI cards have a MUCH faster frame rate than comparable G-force cards...BUT their drivers arent as universally compatible with programs as the G-force variety...so...just a warning out there to all you people...
