Update Update:

On installing the files that R1de was kind enough to provide, I have an impressive variety of crash-inducing issues now. Just to make sure I understand: those are the files gleaned from an install using the windows 1.50 beta .exe, right?

EDIT: Yes I installed 1.64 first. Yes I followed the directions. Yes I even found a piece of wood to knock on:-)

EDIT2: After exhaustive research, the source of the error was found... for some reason the cep2da.hak file in that download pack is a placeholder file. I can log on with cep2da.hak from CEP 1.01 and all other components from 1.50. I still see limbless people but hey it's a beta:-) Thanks again r1de for the files, I seem to be stable with my hybrid CEP now.#nosmileys#nosmileys

they were from the cep150beta.exe file....

i did it just the way I explained in my other post.

I dont *think* i messed up when compressing them... it all looked fine to me...

I will 2x check in the morning for ya tho. make sure you got what I got, mine seems to work fine (well did during the bit of testing I did for makz)

Seriously, r1de, thanks for what you did. There only seemed to be a problem with one file (the cep2da.hak), and I'm hoping the limbless 1.50 robes thing gets fixed with the final CEP release.

I wouldn't have been able to even attempt to log on last night without the files you were nice enough to host! I'm not sure what happened to that one file either, but Joelw64 was kind enough to supply me with a copy from his install. With all CEP 1.50 components installed (from a variety of sources I will admit) I am down to one display bug, no crashes, no invisible monsters;D

So thanks a lot you two, you saved me from an evening of studying. Oh and while I'm heaping out the thanks (it is Thanksgiving here you know) thanks to Preedy1978 for listening to me whine about my crashes.... and only mocking my OS of choice once. Or maybe twice.
