Update?

I just got the new update and it tells me I connot connect to server because the versions dont match. Will the server be updateing? Thanks for info.

Makz has mentioned in his Module Updates forum that he won't update until he knows that CEP will be compatible with the new patch.

One thing he did mention is that there would be an update to the CEP (1.50). Would everyone who plays the server also need to patch their CEP? I've never patched mine yet so I don't know how this is done. If we have to, could a forum admin. please post the procedure for doing this?

1. Based on previous history, I would expect that once it is used, both 1.64 AND the CEP 1.5 patches will be required to play.

2. Once all that is required, you will find links to it on this site (just under the ad bar where it currently says 'Click here to download CEP1.01 from NWVault'

3. As it isnt required yet, I cant speak to its installation procedures. Generally speaking you download the file and run it. If it is complicated you will find instructions here - probably nder the Technical Support forums.

Reminder - Until Makz says so DO NOT UPGRADE ANYTHING or you will probably not be functional for IoF play.

Well I have to update my second computer anyway, it got stuck with v1.63 when I bought Platinum.

Makz, if you need people to run around the test server with v1.64 and CEP 1.50, let me (or any of us) know, as well as

1. where to get CEP 1.50
2. how to access the test server

and I'll volunteer to help test.

Play it, check if for normal running, ie: Ats, creatures, placeables.... etc.

Ok I played on the test server for about an hour and a half. Did a few quests killed some monsters and crafted some armor. Everything seemed a-ok.

yeah that's right you'll need the NWN 1.64 update (using the autoupdater it's 23.4mb, the crit rebuild is 57.9mb) and you'll need the CEP 1.50 beta patch which is 25mb.

if you can get use of a winblows system,
just grab the CEP "installer" and tell it to install the CEP 1.50 into a temporary directory...

MAKING A BACKUP OF YOUR EXISTING NWN FOLDER *IS A GOOD IDEA*

you'll get a few directories (hak, erf, tlk, cep... etc) in that temporary folder....
now just copy the files from the temporary directories into your main NWN folder...

for instance if you made your temp dir C:\CEP-TEMP_INSTALL
then copy all the files in C:\CEP-TEMP_INSTALL\hak into your main NWN hak directory... do the same for erf and tlk and your done....

I had to do it this way to get the CEP 1.50 installed on my main linux system, it's not that hard.... you can do it!

(In case you do not have access to a winblows system or if anyone needs the CEP 1.50 files posted let me know and I'll post just the relevant files for you, in fact I am going to do that now and I'll post a link here in a few minutes)
