I guess it's time I complain about something, huh... Well, last night I went afk in West Styne (bad idea, I know) for a rather long time. When I came back, I discovered that my entire inventory was missing, GP included (a magic bag was also taken, and I thought those cannot be stolen?). Also my helm was unequipped and missing, my armor swapped and missing, and a ring swapped and missing. Are there really that many rogues to steal an entire inventory, or do some people not understand the PPing rules yet? (I have lost an entire inventory two other times because of similar reasons, and it's about ticked me off...) I understand I have no proof of this and nothing can be done. I think I have finally learned my lesson about going afk in W Styne, just wanted to point that out... Thanks regardless of comments. =)

First off, I'm really sorry to hear you lost your stuff. That's always a real bummer and no one likes when something like this happens to them.
<OPINION> -Until more examples are made of people who flaunt the rules, this sort of behaviour will continue if not increase. This includes excessive pickpocketing, PK, inappropriate PvP, and griefing behaviour.
-95% of Fredian's current problems would be remedied if people would more regularly exercise common courtesy.
-There is absolutely no IC rationale for a thief stealing that much of anything from one victim, let alone items that large. The PP mechanism in NWN is not appropriate for a PW. </OPINION>
After losing rather more than two items one day myself (although nowhere near as much as you've lost) I had an idea, I don't know if it is scriptable and I don't know if it is implementable on such a large PW. Basically it's that if people cannot be trusted to respect the PP rules, maybe the rules could be enforced via scripting. Just like our quests are reset every week, maybe a 'pickpocket counter' could be implemented, that only lets me make X pickpocket attempts in a 24 hour period. While I'd rather that people could police themselves, maybe something like this is necessary.
Again, sorry to hear you got cleaned out:-(

Nobody can swap your items for you. As for the PPing there were at least a dozen thieves online last night. You were afk for at least the two hours that I spent running back and forth with Xilo. In game time that means that a dozen thieves could have hit you at least 4 PP's each and been within the rules. It sucks to lose that much, but having observed Rose regularly she will stand for hours in one spot even when you are not afk. A thief is not going to stop and ask if you are there or not. Not to put too fine a point on it, Rose is one of the most hated characters on server (quite a feat though I think Aviar still owns the title). Anyone with one point in PP would be sorely tempted to take a stab at her while you are afk if you are in open play areas. I doubt that it was the work of one thief but likely many.

Can't blame me Rose, wasn't around all last night. Although I do feel sorry for you.

Not trying to blame anybody, really... It's a bit wrong to say that there's a "hate" excuse to steal from a character though... (here I thought most of the rogues liked Rose XD). Aside from that, what I mean when I say "swapped" is that for instance my armor was changed to another one I had, courtesy of a DM. It just happened to get stolen after that. I apologise if I sound a bit rude, but I just feel like something was wrong about the whole thing.

I will ask the other DM's but it is highly unlikely that any of us would mess with your equipment unless of course you were there at the time and knew whoever was doing it for a reason. How about it guys? I didn't do it, you?
