Ok let me first say that I am simpling looking for help/advice here and I am NOT trying to rip on this server (I know how the "locals" can get when you rip on their fav server and I think Fredian has plenty...)
Anywho, I am pretty new to this server, about a month or so now, and I am a bit... frustrated. I have managed to get a char up to lvl 18 and I am now finding that every area is either too easy to grant any decent xp, or else so difficult that I die within a couple combat rounds. I am not a harcore pg'er or anything, but I also have no interest in trying to get 5 more lvls killing liches so I can take the lvl 23 boat somewhere else.
So my question here is simply, am I missing something? I really like Fredian but am starting to get bored running over the same old ground etc, are there more areas taht I dont know about besides the main island? Again, I am looking for hints from some of you vets out there, I am not trying to pass judgement on Fredian.
Thanks
Quinn the Wanderer

Yeah, you are missing. Quests aside, which you can probably milk for several levels, there are areas for level 18. Because of my pro-exploration stance, it would be against my agenda to tell you where because you'll only ask me for the next stop if you can't find it. So, have a look around, or ask the players -- since to an extent they are surrogate DMs when it comes to aiding us in spreading information.

Group questing. That is the best suggestion to give, and its actually worth it; at least you get to know your party a little more.

Seek out a craftsmen and ask them for equipment advice. Your equipment can make a big difference in how well you survive.

While this gets tedious after a while, Quests are definately worthwhile. They range in XP value from 0 to 5000, most being 1000 or 2000. Most can be done by almost anyone once you are able to use invisibility (I think the ring requires level 4 or 6 or so). At level 25 one 'epic quest' also becomes available that is worth ALOT more. Including the level 25+ quest, the whole circuit is worth over 45000, takes about 3 to 4 hours to complete, and can be done once a week. By the way, thanks for the disclaimer, as you said, alot of people are fiercely devoted to their chosen PW. On our fourms, the worst you might get for negative comments is a cold shoulder - we do not condone or allow flaming here. But an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure as they say (Hmm, I've never heard that saying using the metirc system though...)
