To, back up what Makz has said in the past and to maybe lay ouy, what I as a Dm look for in Players. So we can get to know each other better.
Makz policy is as you all may know that RP, though highly encouraged is and will not be enforced, by no player nor DM.
I as for the rping goes agree with him on this. Though, since Ive been dming I have noticed alot of things that shouldn't be happening. As Makz stated there are many great rpers out there that will be glad to help you learn to become more. If those seek it.
I do not however like to see things such as:
1)Someone rping with a Drow group for instance, causing them grief as would many surface races would and stir up a fight Rp style and then get there butts kicked. Log out right after respawning and go get there 800hp Half-Orc with a Greataxe as tall as he is wide to mow them down.
Now, this means ie. Let say you have two characters, one being a girl the other a guy. Well your female character weaker (this is not a sexist statement just implies to a recent occurance ive seen and to avoid using names) than your male gets plowed. The female character is your daughter of the Male character, and of course you want revenge. RPed Revenge is not properly, worked by you logging out after respawn as I said and getting your bad arse Orc.
For instance how would your Orc character even began to know who and what happen to your daughter? Atleast give it some time to past. The only way she could know is of course you had another member of your party with you. They respawn as well roll a d 20 and then they tell your new logged in Orc character what had happened, then he could go and plowed down those Drow.
Sorry, this is long, but my point is this. Don't start rping with someone and then start meta/power gaming once it doesnt go your way just to get back at someone. It ruins the fun for all. This time I wont mention names but, if it happens again I might began to make a list of those that I have seen doing this.
2)There was going to be a 2, but 1 took to much space. Consider this lesson 1 lol Though in final I will be rewarding those that I see working hard to build upon and rp there character. Because it takes more time and dedication, then to run and hack and slash. It also provides more fun and entertainment for those here on Fredian seeking it.
