***I am updating this to answer questions as they are asked in private message to me. Consider this a draft of the rules, not the final ones****
Next Friday Night 12/3/04, starting at 10pm EST, (you must be checked in by this time, so show up early, as it will take time to empty out your inventory) if I can get a DMs help, I will be hosting a Master of Crafts Competition/Quest. It will be IC and the winner will get Ore's Djinni. You must be of Non-Evil alignment to participate.
The object will be simple, you will strip yourself of all equipment and money. AND I MEAN ALL stripable equipment. Access to a private chest will be granted so you can get it back.
You will be given only the following items.
One Copper Hammer
One Copper Pickaxe
One item of clothing that is non magical.
One Cloak of Greater Sanctuary
One Ring of Invisibility
Your Assistant will be given
One item of clothing that is non magical
One Scroll of resurrection.
The first person to provide all the following items to Ore that they crafted in his workshop wins:
Yellow Cloak - Tailoring
Arcane Arrows (yeah the carralus ones) - Fletching
Truth Helm - Armor Crafting
Sun Sword- Weapon Crafting
Paladins Ring - Jewelry
Long Ash Smooth Silk Battle Bow - Bowery
Hardended Large White Hide - Tanning
Ideal Diamond - Gemcrafting
Heart Stone - Mining
Myrk Ingots - Blacksmithing
The time limit on the quest will be 6 hours. The person with the most items from the list will win. If there is a tie, the person who turned in the most items first will determine the winner.
Each crafter will be allowed one assistant to help them. The assist however may not craft. They may only help you fight monsters, and carry things. An assistant who violates a rule, will result in the disqualification of the applicant as well as the assistant. Any use of a crafting skill by an assistant will be grounds for disqualification. Fetching a bear hide is not a skill, mining gems is. You get the difference if you are a crafter. The assistants will also be stripped of all equipment, so in order to have them help you, you have to equip them.
The entire affair will be IC, which means no Metagaming, no Tells, No Party Talk, and most certainly NO LOGGING OFF THE SERVER TO REGAIN SPELLS. If you have to log off the server for any reason, you must do it from Ore's House. If you are disconnected from the server, notify Ore as soon as you reconnect and before you take any actions. You will not be allowed to cast another spell until you have made it back to Ore's House.
You will then all depart at the same time. You may not enter a room with a private chest, nor purchase any equipment of any kind from anyone but Ore or Salandra.
With help from DM - Salandra will be in Ores house, and she will be the only one you may purchase anything from. She will have all the stuff you need for crafting that must be purchased. Keeping in mind you start with no money as well as no equipment, so you must make what you need for the journey.
Respawn means elimiation. If you die and respawn, you are done even if you have the most items turned in. You may be raised by your assistant, and your assistant may raise you, but since niether of you will have scrolls, tread carefully. If Anah attends (I hope she will) any one who dies will be raised by her if not raised by any other means, but only after a wait period of at least 10 minutes.
Violation of any rule will result in forfieture of the competition. The determination of the DM will be final.
