This is for anyone who hasn’t read the patch notes from Bioware (shame on you) – and is looking to change the colors of the text that is displayed (on your side - not the other person's) for talk, tell, party, shout, etc.
The party chat being the same color as talk bothered me, so I remembered reading this deep in the patch notes from Bioware:
Here is what I inserted into my nwnplayer.ini file:
[Chat Colors] TalkColor=240,240,240 ShoutColor=255,1,1 WhisperColor=128,128,128 TellColor=32,255,32 ServerColor=176,176,176 PartyColor=255,239,80 DMColor=16,223,255
When a shout comes across it is now red on my screen instead of the default yellow. Party chat for me (with the above settings) is now yellow for me.
Enjoy!

Please keep in mind this only changes the color at your side. Users you send messages to will see whatever colors they have setup. To my knowledge there is no way (since one of the patches) to send text with a differnet color code.

Silentus,
I modified the wording slightly. Do you think that will clear up any confusion?

I know how to have servers do things in different colors. I'm not sure which group of settings overrides the other.
It is similar to players who login with colored names.

I dont know that we really need to do anything on server side Addicted, it was just an interesting aside I was trying to figure out a way aroudn for a while. I cant even remember why I wanted to do it. In the end, after a ton of looking around, I found something that was supposed to work, but was disabled after patch 1.4 or something like that.
Thanks there C. Vercetti, Ill add that to the Importantin info tips though - might be nice particularly for those who use alot of party chat (never liked that they had party white just like standard text).
