I have to say I'm very intrigued by the new crafting system, and I'm slowly working my way through the ranks of the tanners. Badgers have learned to fear me now. Not being able to preview the recipe in the crafting process is more realistic as well... and more challenging to figure out. I've been taking copious notes.:-)
If I had to complain about anything though, I'd say I kind of miss the 'soft' crafts, like brewing and baking. I think there is a lot of RP potential there; for example, Hanah baked pies for some of her friends one day. I realise that redoing these crafts into the ATS dB structure would be horrendously time-consuming though, so please chalk this comment up to 'she had to complain about something';-)

I hear ya there too Hanah. My most recent request has been for a slightly more functional one of tailoring clothes (or at least having more aroud to buy). Someday some of these might be around, but I'm sure that if Makz feels these are appropriate avenues, they will show up in due time after more pressing issues and changes are dealt with. Like I've said so many times, I cant state enough how pleased I am with Makz's hyperactive role in making this place better every day. This is the place to be PS - One other thing I've noticed is that if you search for ATS recipies, item difficulty orders, etc... on the web, you find vertibly NOTHING for spoilers. I think thats great! I'm not pretending I wasnt looking for it to help me along, but the reality is it really is best that the information is not readily availble to make the experience more challenging.

I have to agree with you on the blessed hyperactivity, Vugor:-) I'm always amazed at all the little details and nuances here, and it keeps me coming back.
Maybe I've been so spoiled by this place that I don't know when to stop asking for more:-) I'll be patient and appreciate what I've been given, honest!

;D thank you again, my head swell is getting so large I'll never fit into the doorway of my house. Seriously though, I love working on the world, and sometimes I feel like I am going snail pace with what I want to achieve, but, achieve I SHALL!. In reference to tanning and also tailoring, I started a thread of what I do know about tailoring, and I would appreciate anyones discoveries in either of these two areas being published on here, when it is complete enough, I can then add that information into the books. One of the joys of inheriting someone elses incomplete work Makz.

Just a thought Makz (that might make other players despise me), do you really want to publish all this info in readily availalbe books? One neat thing they did on my old PW before I came here for good, was put out scrolls with 'special' recipies on them that could be gotten only in remote areas, or thru quests or whatnot. This made some items very unique and their recipies well guarded. It gave players yet another crafting goal that tied back to questing for the recipie or RPing to try to get it out of another crafter.
Personally trying to use up all of Makz's free time, Vugor

Actually I am more interested in things that are normal that do not show up in books currently, ie: some colours made from flowers not listed, but your point is taken seriously, and I as always try to think of what my experience has been over the last year and a bit in regards to this, a lot of players are impatient and if something is not in plain english with subtitles also in even plainer english, they will not get it at all. Sad fact, make everything dumbed down for the lowest common denominator. Not meant as an insult to them, just a fact of life, some people need road maps, others make them.
