I just spent 2h getting hides, curing them, tanning them, hardenning them...
Then I want to craft. I have the sewing kit, and 2 choices when I try to actually sew... It always tell me I dont have proper materials... what else do I need ?
I have one thing off all that could be purchased from the tanner vendor, yet it wont let me make anything.
Anyone here could list what I am missing ?
*sigh* Shoudl've made a bowyer or Smith... much more easy...

Something for all tanners to note on this, ALWAYS make sure you are using the correct type of skin, ie : small leather skin, not small black leather etc..

Tanners start out curing hides. That will be the only thing you can do for a while.. then you can start to Tan hides and harden hides.. at around skill 100 or so you will be able to make small bags.. Hope that helps. Start with bat skins..

I play on a server with the ATS system. So as long as it is the same, and you are using your tanners sewing kit, you need to purchace the pattern. ie: small bag pattern, boot pattern etc... along with the proper hide.
Again, if its Exactly the same or not, I don't know.

The system on this server is far more complicated and works far better than any other that I have seen inplay elsewhere.
It does however require a HUGE amount of patience.
Are you referring to tailoring or tanning, here, btw? Tanning is more of a support skill for armoring and tailoring...

If you wish to make things such as cloaks , boots , bags ,etc , you will need to use taylor skills . The hard hides are made into clothes using dye ,which is made from plants. If you wish to make armor then hides in various states of hardening are needed depending on the armor to be made (check the recipe book) as well as the correct ingots. Heck if you miss Lumix give me a shout Arden will take you walk about to see the lovely flowers .  |

Hope you look for the flowers before husky built Aeradon trashes them while trying to pick them  Have been unsuccessful in finding way to have a more gentle touch  |

I noticed that when I made a set for some poor little mageling...good thing he was a half dragon or he would have been in bad shape to even lift the pickaxe once he could equip it  |
