Howdy,
I've been doing tailoring for what seems like forever now. I've started trying to track what is going on and here is from my last batch:
I have 20 blue cloths. Out of the 20 I have 17 successful and only get 2 points. The item is listed as being light blue in color.
What is up with that? 20 attemps with 17 successes and only 2 POINTS!!??!?! That was over an hours worth of work for 2 points.
What is wrong? What can I do to help that? There were no TMIs...

Light blue means more successes but a lower chance of getting a point. I found that crafting in the dark blue or red whenever possible yielded the best points to attempts ratio. Also, make sure that your INT is boosted as far as you can. That also has a bearin gon success and point gain. If you think tailoring is harsh, try fletching There is nothing like getting a success on the Arcane Arrow of Death and not getting a point for it even in the red zone!

So... I need to craft in red, when 1 in 5 actually succeed, but I get a point just about ever success, or I can do light blue that suceed almost every time, but takes 5 successes to get a point, or dark blue for the middle ground, but isn't always available to craft in...

Hey, you're lucky... Tailoring used to have a ceiling of 1000!

I had 60 colored large hides and made "dark blue" ultimate belts only...got around 17 successes and 13 points.... I think wisdom, charisma might affect tailoring.... or was my STR too high *grins* (eh my INT is high enough, dont worry )

Well... going back and only doing red or dark blue has greatly increased the number of points gained... too bad I wasted like 5 hours of crafting at this point to learn it Oh well, back to it!

Alright....i just made 17 ult brown belts (e.g. 17 successes) at dark blue level (after finishing, still darkblue) and only got 3 points for that although my INT is in the top thirties....
Any explanation?
yesterday i got more than that for only 8 successes

Parinor, it's all based on chance. Certain factors like your overall skill and intelligence helps your chances, but you won't necessarily get lucky all the time. That's the thing with chance Sometimes you'll hit the jackpot and other times, you're just *beep* out of luck.

Other factors also are involved in ATS, dexterity, charisma... strength and intelligence most people seem to remember . None of that was ever changed when Salandra and I dug around changing code. Point being, various characters will get different mileage on a craft. Realistically, which I am NOT going to do, not all crafts should be able to be done by just one PC so... . Makz.

not all crafts should be able to be done by just one PC so... . Makz. We call this the ANTI-ORE Rule. Makz has a tendancy to make crafts extremely difficult until ore masters it and then it suddenly seems to be a breeze. And yes, quit compaining... fletching is to the point I may will quit playing on the server. 3 days work, 9 hours a day..... 6 points I understand wanting to make the top arrows hard, but how about 1 essence per 5 arrows. 3 for 20 and failing to get points 90% of the time is just wrong from learning.

I was going to give you a 'stop whining' post Percival, but you've earned it - in my book you can complain all you like. Now as for the rest of you....

nah, I really need to stop whining. It is the Journey that is the reward. I lived through tailoring when it was 1000, I will live through this... with help
OPEN INVITATION
Bring me three Caralus and I will dedicate the attempt to you and you will get all arrows made with your donation. Or I will craft one item of your choice

Caralus are easy to kill... just don't respawn very fast. Takes like over and hour for 3 of them.

*flounces in and pouts* I reserve the right to whine as well! Now, having established the right to whine, I think I'll save it for Makz

Hey, I read somewhere else on this board that the English like to whine a lot... I also recall saying I then must be English! If i couldn't whine I wouldn't know what to do with 1/2 my time.... the other 1/2 i spend sleeping.
