Please note PATCH Version 1.01 of CEP is now out, it requires a player to down a 2.4MB executable to be up to date.
link is at the same location as flashed on the news ticker on main forum screen still. Fixes include some things of no importance to you. However, of note...

No longer have to equip rods ie: emote wand.
Crafting of custom elements will work <-- should mean no mote whining from the server over baseitem, I hope

I will update the server later this morning, as this is going to take me a full re-compile.
