Imon grew up in the trading port of Chethel in the land of the strongheart halflings in Luiren. His parents are well respected in the town. His father is a sorcerer, albeit a rather forgetful one, who was rumoured to have met the great Elminster at one time. His mother is a cleric who teaches in the school there. He also has a twin brother, Imin, who he often drags in to one of his "cunning" plans.
The Games are an integral part of Luiren society and when Imon heard they were to be hosted in his hometown this year (1372) he vowed to win at least one of the great prizes on offer. So he trained hard and found his natural quickness to be of great benefit.
However, as the day of the Games came closer, during training he slipped and sprained his ankle. His mother refused to heal him thinking it was a result of one of his pranks and thought it useful for him to learn a lesson. Imon was distraught, some of his friends had been laughing at him thinking he was stupid to think he could win anything in his first year at the Games.
It was while he was resting up that he devised the plan. His twin brother could enter in his place and with a bit of "help", he was sure Imin could win.
So to the day of the Games and the Greased Weasel contest. This consisted of chasing a greased weasel through some underground caverns. The first to catch and hold onto the weasel would be victorious. Imon, knowing the caverns well, sneaked into them by a little know passage the night before. As the contestants, including his brother chased the weasel around, he bided his time until the weasel came near. He snatched it into a bag and released a slightly less greased weasel in its place. Imin, knowing of this plan, snatched up the weasel and claimed victory..
Both were delighted but the Chief of the Games recognised that this was not the weasel he had released. Cheating at the Games brings great shame and punishment. Not wanting to wait around, Imon and his brother fled to their father's laboratory. There Imin, who had a little magical skill, tried to operate a portal his father kept there. As they entered the portal malfunctioned and they were ripped away to this Island.
